Wanted: PHD or similar ultra packable down jacket

Seeking something to help me complete the Rapha500 this year. Plan to camp out in or near the peaks so need to ensure I'm fully weather proofed. I am a size large in Craghoppers jackets if that helps... pls PM me if you have a reasonably priced top end light jacket for grabs...

Thanks

Re: Best/modt economical/robust dynamo hub

I bought an XT hub dynamo as it was: £65 from Germany Serviceable and repairable by a home mechanic with out wheel rebuild Generates more power at low speeds than any other dyanamo I attached it to a 29+ wheel and while i was thoroughly dissapointed with the light generation i was content with the ...

Re: Best/modt economical/robust dynamo hub

What a whole heap of info. Thanks guys and sorry for my ignorance on all things dynamo. So I will be using initially (god willing)for this years Rapha500 as I plan to make a little adventure out of it all. Maybe 100-110 miles per day (all road off course) for 3 days. I do have my powerbank which is ...

Re: Cycling pants to keep the bottom dry

Guards are a must on long rides if it's going to be wet. Think more solving the problem than trying to fix it, as you'll get far more wet from the ground, than above. If it's just for showers, then just get some cheap waterproof trousers and chop down to size. Also if you're out for 24 hours, then ...

Re: Cycling pants to keep the bottom dry

Lol. Forgot to say. Lycra doesn't really do it for me and about the cold thing. Yesterday s ride was a little eye opener. Went without my under helmet hat for the first time this year. But when it started raining midway and the windchill really got to my head I relaised my mistake. Luckily I had the...

Cycling pants to keep the bottom dry

As per title. I wonder if anyone can suggest any decent pants that I need for a 24hour ride next month. At the mo I have my Madison dry pants but they are at risk of getting me too warm. Then there is the Endura singletracks which dry pretty quickly as long as it gets warm. Although the Endura are a...

Thanks guys... Thing with the Revelate bag is that its always a pain to find. Alpkit just doesn't do it for me... Chew... If the Apidura is the standard (not longer version) then I reckon it will fit spot on (how much please Chew and when/where to collect??)...

Revelate Tangle (old model) compatibility for tt bag

Guys. If someone can advise. I have a Revelate Tangle which is a snug fit in my frame. Its vaguely exciting though and I even manage to use 2 × 750 ml bottles by swapping around to downtube when one is empty. Q I have is: which tootube bags will work. I plan on getting a stembag (thinking apidura co...

Slightly off topic. Just wanted to endorse whatever Ian Fitz is saying. He practically gave me his PHD bag which I very much love. If he is using aomething else now that is super cheap and he recommends it, then it must be good... Besides, he's not getting the PHD back... :|

Re: Best/most reliable Garmin Etrex &bike mount

Thanks guys. Chew, the 520 is more of a trainijg tool you see and a bit of a faff for navigating long distances (crashed on me twice on my training ride last week)... So I thought, with the price of etrex these days, I may as well invest and have the added security. Will be carrying a large anker po...

Just done a 170 mile loop. The Garmin 520 I have did the job but etrex would obviously be nicer. So my Q is (if someone knows please) regarding mounts for the bike. I want to really stick a quadlock to it and attach it to my quadlock thingy. Does anyone know if there is enough surface area on the ba...

Re: CycleStar Nanotech (1000 mile) lube

So how do you guys clean your drivetrain at the end of the ride? I don't think I've ever used a wet lube that could stand up with a spray from the hose (usually next time I go to ride the bike, it's got no lube left, or it's rusty). I run it through a chain bath with petrol in it. Better is if you ...
