Speedball ready for a test ride! It needs a couple of finishing touches like frame protection and one hose shortening. And it'll probably get 2.6 tyres put on at some point, but otherwise it's done. One or two parts i'd like to be different, but I just wanted it done and riding. Now a weekend of solo parenting...

By coincidence I happened to watch a BBC short film last night about the ravens that roost in the forest behind the beach there. Apparantly it's mainly juveniles who can fly in from many miles away and use the area for speed dating! Ravens mate for life which can be 25-30 years.

Weirdly, as soon as I went into the forest for the return leg, I immediately spotted with a Raven or Crow and I thought it was odd to see one there but apparently not

But, came here to say, CF, I saw Emily Chappel's show in Newport last night, which was great, then had a bivvy which was lovely, if a little chilly.

And off on holidays in the morning, training it to Germany to pick up my mum en route and have 5 days at Lake Constance with her. Just checked, 260km around d the lake, my first bike tour, aged 16.

On the whole, yes it is.
I've finished work for a weeks holiday, I've sat out in the last of the sunshine with a beer and I've a wee bike ride to do starting tomorrow.

Was feeling somewhat gloomy about the prospects of riding into a very large rain cloud all week (I know, I know Reg, but I'm a wuss) but in the final analysis, I'm happy to be off again on the old HT, it being the tenth anniversary of my first completion (in worse conditions) particularly as places are so hard to get so I should feel lucky to get a 'by' in. As such I need to gird my loins and get on with it.

Plus having spent a bomb on fancy kit over the years, it's time I actually used it...

It'll no be as bad as the '23 BB300 in any case!

If you are interested in Corvids then can I recommend the book 'Crow Country' by Mark Cocker? It's a few years old now so can be picked up cheap on eBay sometimes.

Cheery enough. Currently at Download festival and the sun is shining

My first 'proper' festival in about 15 years. So I'm 40, not 25. My back hurts constantly, the closest thing to narcotics is codine, I'm in a campervan instead of a leaky tent and I've brought a yoga mat and smoothies for morning recovery, rather than hair of the dog.

Just about to head to 'Rock Fit' for a morning workout, second day running. After yoga of course
