Re: What Rim at 27 - 30 mm wide?
I dont think the weight is too bad TL-29: 535gm Race face Arc (new Asym): 525 gms WTB KOM lite i29: 517gms DT Swiss XM481: 525gms Stans Mk3: 527gms (do they still all crack at the nipple holes?) So they are all much of a muchness. The TL-29 has the advantage of having eyelets so is a bit more resist...

I use https://www.cyclebasket.com/ for spokes. Their ACI Alpina spokes seem pretty good. Not tried SpokesFromRyan. Another fan of the Roger Musson book as well. Have built easily 20+ pairs of wheels using his method over the last 10+ years and no issues*. Think possibly the best value £10 I have spe...

Re: Living a meagre existence so you dont have to work ?
I took redundancy in 2016, aged 51, and haven't worked since. I had worked for a large company for 21 years and it was a good leaving package so the business decision to leave was made straight away but I still miss the place, people and work very much. I can take my pension now but am hanging on so...

Re: Wanted: QR adapters for Hope Pro 4
Older Pro2 (Non EVO) use different adapters. I should have remembered that as I've converted my Pro 2 (Non EVO) to EVO spec by using an EVO axle/spacer and freehub, I did it at the same time as going from QR to 142. The hub bodies are identical they just changed the axle/freehub for the EVO and onl...

Re: Will XT bottom bracket work in road frame?
I only know 'cos had same question recently so fresh in mind. The beauty of Shimano H2 chainsets is a small degree of flexibility on crank width on the spline unlike SRAM / Raceface which bottom out and rely on additional washers. Guess thats why H2 hasn't changed in 17 years (I have gone and done i...

Re: Festive 500 in a oner?
Zwift F500. My take on this is no one knows what things will be like at Christmas. Could be better, could be worse. Either way my take is zwift/r@pha/strava are just encouraging people to get on with it whichever way suits. They did the same during early lockdown adding Zwift miles to personal chall...

Re: Know of a tool to visualise my ride & kit list?
Yeah I use a google sheet for bigger trips (1 week-3 months) and after the trip jot some notes at the bottom about what worked/didnt work. Next trip I copy that list to a new page in the google sheet, amend to suit the trip and then print it and tick off as I pack it. I do this as if "bike"...

Thanks Shaf. Too narrow for me. Glws. Cheers "Jase"
Btw thats the newer non "delux" version. The official width should be stamped on the end of one of the bar ends.

Re: Revelate terrapin saddle harness (well used) & dry bag (newer version) & Salsa flared bars
What width are these please Shaf. Should be written in centre. Stated width please not some random measurement?
Also which version; previous models Cowchipper2 or Cowchipper3. Current version Cowchipper or cowchipper delux?
Thanks!

Re: Strong 29+ wheel recommendation
Gave up on Duallys because of the tubeless faff. Succeeded but was hard work. Also had burping issues (the tyre not me obvs) when cornering hard. Think its because the bead shelf isnt properly flat. Shame as really strong rim.
Arcs and WTB are superb, See CRC have WTBs for a good price.
