Re: Trans Cambrian

Cheers. Hmmm. I think it was somewhere around Glaspwll. Had a look on Google maps satellite but can't spot it. Near here. We were possibly slightly off the main route at that point as I seem to remember we ended up on a road on the south side of Llyfnant rather than a trail on the north side.

Re: Leg warmers - any recommendations?

I also have the Endura Thermolights. They've been great, esp in the wet, but I find them pretty warm and tight on my (not so big) thighs....

Re: Leg warmers - any recommendations?

The Craft 3D warmers get great reviews. I've got a pair (of the XS ones even though I'm 6ft - Always riding advise to go for the small ones as they're so stretchy) that I haven't worn in anger yet and might have to sell as I think I may be able to get away without padded shorts and I don't think th...

Thanks! There's a (shorter) final part now here. Though there's not much biking in this one.

Well, it works well - love the look. Are you using Final Cut Pro? Is it just a case of adjusting each clip manually or do you have some kind of presets?

Re: The post man's been ...

I know what you mean. If you wanted to swop it around you'd probably need to go in to the external gear mech (if thats what you have) and re-cable. Its actually fairly simple. There are some good Rohloff videos that make it easier than the manual suggests. Not sure if you can swop the cables at the ...

Re: In To The Wind - Video from WC2C

Excellent. Did you have to do much work to get the colour similar with the footage from three different cameras?

Re: Klymit static V

It's also very tough and packs down small, which could be key features if you want it for a long trip. I haven't used mine in anger yet outside. On the kitchen floor and in a friends spare room, it seems comfy enough. Certainly comfort than my old Thermarest. If anything, a little bit firm in the ce...

Re: Thermatex Bedding Blanket

Have a Klymit Static V. Tough and packs small. But I've been cold on thermorests in autumn / spring before and got an EXPED downmat. I just find it a faff to blow up and pack and don't trust it's longevity for a long trip. So would be good to supplement the Klymit with a little extra for when it's c...

Re: Thermatex Bedding Blanket

Put a cup of hot water under the blanket, another under the blanket but also with part of the blanket between it and the ground, and a third without any blanket, and measure the temperature of the water at set time intervals?

Need three jugs and three thermometers tho...

MSR Autoflow filter, Primus stove, Osprey Talon 8

More in the clear-out... MSR Autoflow Gravity Filter, unused I like the idea of this - simply scoop the water up, hang from a tree / fence / tent and gravity does the rest. But I've realised its more useful for a small group of people rather than one person on a solo trip where something like a Ster...

Hilleberg Kaitum 3GT tent, red, excellent condition

This is not exactly bikepacking gear but might appeal to someone as a bombproof, three person tent. I've had this tent for a few years but probably only used it for around 10 nights. I viewed it as a 'tent for life' when I bought it, and still do, so in many ways this is a reluctant sale. More infor...
