Im using the long/wide Syn UL7 and its very comfy and remarkably warm. Its also nice and quiet. I wish Id bought the size down though - the full size one is a bit overkill even for a lump like me. Inflating it is a faff. They recommend using one of their pillow pumps to avoid getting condensation inside the mat from your breath, and while it only takes 3-4 minutes doing so under a tarp in the rain is a right pain. Practice on your living room floor a few times before you use it in anger would by my advice. Otherwise, you cant go wrong.
I'm just going outside ...

Big fan of Exped mats. I don't think the weights are really comparable, a small Exped is 52cm x 163cm (pretty much full length), a small Neoair is 51cm x 119cm.

I use an Exped Schnozzle bag to blow them up, much faster than a pillow or mini pump.

At 66g this might be lighter than the surplus inflating dry bag I take with me for my neoair:

Going a smidge off topic.....

Would anyone buy a Hyalite AC Peak mat new if it was £35? I seem to recall they were less than reliable.....

I wouldn't if it were my only mat, although I might as a spare to loan out. The leaks always seemed to be around the valve area, I wonder if a good coat of seam sealer before use would help?

I had the previous version that was branded Pacific outdoor and got fed up repairing it. A lot of people had trouble with the air mats.
I replaced it with the HYALITE Peak Oyl Lite which is a self inflating which has been great for me so far but only had about 6 nights on it. There doesn't appear to be the issues with they self inflating mats that there were with the air mats.

Only £30 on sale at the moment at Blacks. http://www.blacks.co.uk/equipment/11648 ... -long.html

Cheers. I was idly looking at something in between my Klymit & Xtherm. Palm Oil petite looks a good compromise and is £25.

I sometimes wonder if you could pump up mats with your bike pump - with an adaptor I guess, but since I will have the pump with me anyway...

I like that battery powered one though :D

I reckon it'd take a long time, a mat requires air volume and bike pumps are more about pressure.

If you do heat your canister over your stove, could you film it please

For my exped syn mat, I've never used anything other than my gob / lungs to inflate it and I've not died yet
