Re: Stuck bolts in rear hub Ahhhhhh
Find a local engineering company who has EDM spark erosion machines. They'll be able to remove most of the material and leave you with nothing much more than a tidy up job. Used to be a toolmaker and it was regular practice to remove broken drills and taps this way from tooling steel. You will have ...

Re: Garmin inreach Mini
The mini looks like a great little device to me. Basic communication, price is a lot more competitive to Spot, and the option to use the subscription as and when. The first Garmin\InReach devices are proper pricey, but this is nearly half

Re: This Is Not A Tour - new Audax events in memory of Mike
On the slow 300. All along my plan has been to have a kip somewhere in route. Plan to do at least the first half, preferably closer to 2/3rd distance before. So bivvy bag, mat and light sleeping bag. Not much more than that though.

Re: Wildlife
Saw some Roe deer out in the fields on my little ride out the north side of town earlier. Had some great sightings on night rides in the local woods, my favourite being a tawny owl swooping down in front of me into the headlamp beam for about 20-30 yards before it drifted back up into the canopy. I ...

Re: Todays ride
A quick 39km (couldn't make it up to 40km due to time constraints) on the gravel bike, dodging the rain, to pick up 3 veloviewer squares that will hopefully be the start of getting my main square further north.

Like that a lot. Not a particular type of bike, just a good solid bike. For a bit of every thing.

Re: Bugger off?
Within the UK? I'd probably head west from the front door, straight into the Black Mountains, then maybe carry onto the Pembrokeshire coast, then back North to the Cambrians. I think given the time of year and recent weather, its not surprising so many would choose to head south for a ferry or simil...

I'll keep an eye on this thread.
I work Saturdays, but can get the odd early finish or something. Down in Gloucester so not a million miles away.

I'd say they're like a Salsa bend2 handlebar with a jones/alpkit style loop on the front if that helps. I've got a photo, just need to get it uploaded somewhere.

New handlebars?
Don't worry, this isn't a new "what handlebars" thread. I was at Core bike show today. On a bike built up on the ISON stand (think it was a The Light Blue Darwin) I spotted these handlebars. http://www.satoribike.com/Archive/_eng/products/p0133/1608258550.jpg http://www.satoribike.com/pro....

I enjoyed that, makes me think about 650+ on the Stooge. The Cotswolds clag ain't much better than the infamous Wiltshire downs chalk. Did you run the stock tyres?

'18 YD300
After completing my first BB200 this year I've been looking for the next event I could challenge myself on. I was thinking about the YD200 but looking at website, its timing might not work for me this year, and thats when I spotted that entries for the 2018 YD300 appear to be open. How much of a ste...

Re: Two Zero One Eight plans . . .
First off I'm getting married this year, that's eaten a large chunk of my holiday allowance already. And to help my time and money disappear even faster between now and then I picked up a 2004 Audi TT which I need to make sure is in fine fettle as we're driving it to Italy and back for the wedding a...

Re: Veloviewer map - explorer tiles
Took a detour home on the commute this evening. Got myself up to 7 17x17 squares now. A quick trip is the opposite direction after work one day will get me to a 19 square.
Got a couple of annoying dead ends to deal with, then its going to involve some fairly big rides.

Re: Are you having owt interesting for Christmas?
My folks have got me the Pizza Rack for my Sequoia, but aside from that, I've no idea. I'm sure there will be some booze along the way, and maybe I'll get chance to go ride my bike (not necessarily in that order )
