Re: SPD shoes for extended hike a bike? Lakeland 200 content

XT and XTR Trails. Both have developed a comparable amount of play (bearings) after a similar amount of use. Yeah, great pedals (I have XT) they've done thousands of miles and are really easy to regrease/flush out the bearings. Unthread the spindle, push fresh grease in the pedal body, re-insert sp...

I've used a Lezyne Femto on my helmet for a few years, One set of 2x CR2032 batteries lasted the whole of Tour Divide and then some.

Re: BareBones Fatfighters - The weigh in

I was 72.3kg after Braunton 150, which is almost back down to my post Tour Divide 69.5Kg. Then two days after Braunton 150, I'm 75kg again! That's a lot of curry and recovery beer.

I can only reiterate others' views. I love Ti, I've had 4 Ti frames, and 1 Carbon. Ti wins for comfort, looks, longevity, everything really.

No paint to scratch.

Re: Photos you have taken in the last month of which you lik

Whereabouts were these taken? I want to say Burrito for the second, but I don't think that's right. I can't quite put my finger on it. First was on the road from Two Bridges towards Princetown, just after you turn left, looking SE. Second is next to Bellever Forest below Riddon Ridge. Great camp sp...

Schwalbe + Devon = fail

Conti ProTection, Maxxis EXO or WTB all work well for me. It's flintier in east devon, so even nastier.

Just do the willy periscope, works for me, except I always seems to reserve some wee to release into the chamois after I bring down the periscope.

Re: Braunton 150

Ben, I was just asking why not use the inland road, and it makes sense, If it's super steep and the coast road is better, and short, then that's cool. I don't know that stretch of road at all, so wasn't sure how bad/good it was. Anyway, looking forward to the riding it!

Why not use the sustran route that's a little inland? Riding A-roads isn't fun IMO.

Ben, Just looking at the new route on the site, there's a lot of A road from Combe Martin to Ilfracombe, unlike last years route, is that a mistake? https://photos-4.dropbox.com/t/2/AADr6tTvU3fS23gkJMQWw-G7rdQL7qrCJJqNITXHR6agsg/12/1676507/png/32x32/1/_/1/2/Screenshot%202017-03-16%2008.12.18.png/EPD...

Talking of premium stuff, imagine a Shand x Rap.ha paint job on a cheap Chinese frame...

£4000 for three shades of dog sick green.

The southwest section around my area uses some bloody awful busy A roads that are actually bloody dangerous to ride on, where there are fantastic coastal NCN cycle routes nearby. Bad planning.

Nice idea, but the area it projects is not a safe passing distance.
