Re: garmin assistance req
It might help if you gave the model number of your Garmin. On my Oregon I can see routes and tracks that are in both Internal memory and on the SD card.
Re: garmin assistance req
iv,e got the edge 800 put all my routes on sd card, then press menu, courses, and they are there, I used to put them on the internal drive but it used to freeze then I think slarg recommended sd works fine
it's not that I can and others can't, it's that I will and others won't.
Re: garmin assistance req
Yes (Just worked it out )
You need to set the file structure up the same so it knows where to look to find the files
On the SD card you should have the folders:
DCIM
EULA
GARMIN
MISC
In the GARMIN one, create a GPX folder
Put your files in there
You still may want to reduce the size of the files to below 250kb, or the internal memory of the Garmin may struggle.
Done this plenty of times via bikehike and its made no difference to how the track ends up looking

Re: garmin assistance req
Can you call your H drive Garmin (I assume it's a card?) and this will confuse your unit into thinking it's garmin and then it will read your files?
Re: garmin assistance req
Yes its the sd card im trying to store the routes on as my internal memory isnt enough to hold tracks i dont think?
Re: garmin assistance req
When you plug it in, do you get 2 drives?
(E, F, whatever...) Each PC will call them something different

Re: garmin assistance req
Correct, all my routes etc go on to the SD card.Mike wrote:Yes its the sd card im trying to store the routes on as my internal memory isnt enough to hold tracks i dont think?
Pretty sure my SD card is called Garmin, I was going to double check but I've lost my cable
Re: garmin assistance req
Mike,
You need to put the files in the folder called 'NEW FILES' the Garmin will then find them and show them in 'courses'. Normally the Garmin sets up the folders itself. Double click the Garmin folder on the SD Card and the New Files folder should be in there.
Hope it helps.

Re: garmin assistance req
On the 62 I think they need to be in GARMIN/GPX directory? I could be wrong as I haven't got one.
If it does not exist then create it on the SD card in File Manager
