Thinking of heading to the beach soonish for a bivi, what do I need to do differently from (say) a bivi in the woods?
-thinking of taking extra water as there wont be fresh water available
-longer stakes for the tarp?
-be November time, will the sand bugs eat me alive???
Usual setup is sleep mat, bivi bag, sleep bag and basic tarp. I've camped on the edges before but never on sand!

*disclaimer; We could see the tide was in but thought around the corner might be ok (obviously it wasn't)

Stakes on their own are no good regardless of length i find
You need more surface area or you need to bury something like a stone or a bit of driftwood and peg right behind it.

A bike makes a good "upwind" guying point
Re: Bivi on a beach
Strong large plastic bags full of sand for pegs
