Entries for Bach to Bach are now closed.

Post by Bearbonesnorm »

That's right, entries for next years Winter Event - Bach to Bach, are now open.

The usual format applies, with a set of grid references dropping into your inbox on Christmas eve. You then spend the festive season poring over your maps and computer trying to figure out a route that best suits your preferences.

On Jan 9th arrive at Llanbrynmair community centre sometime between 9.00am and 1.00pm. Enjoy some freshly prepared toast, a chat and lashings of hot tea - sadly we don't have ginger beer. Set off into the bleak mid-winter anytime you like between 9.00 and 2.00. Oh and don't forget to collect you Bear Bones goodies before you leave ... they might come in handy.

Return to where you started sometime on Jan 10th and bask in the glory of a job well done. Sit back with a tea and cake, deforst your digits and bore everyone with your tales ... as they'll bore you with theirs.

Go home.

In. I keep hearing about Indian summers, not sure what they are but I'm guessing it means sunshine in January.

Strangely I cycled past my bivvy spot from last year's event just yesterday. What a miserable night that was. No sleeping mat so I made a bed of wet, frozen sticks to increase my suffering

I think I'll be packing my mat this time...

Done - I have to get a couple of hernia repaired over xmas, but the pre-assessment nurse reckons I'll be back on a bike in under a week.

This will give me something to look forward to.

I plan on carrying enough gear to be EXTREMELY comfortable.

I may even buy one of those fancy lined winter mats.

I'm in - going to singlespeed this and may even take a tent.

Stu, can you have some of the grid refs over towards the BB200 route? It's an area I want to explore more........
