BB200 hot food or not?
Hi,
Just wondering about packing for the BB200. I'm going to be one of the slower riders and will be stopping for a kip using bivy bag etc. Just wondering how many people carry stuff to make hot food/drinks on a ride like this?
Mine is not the lightest kit out there (tiny gas stove and small billy) but am thinking that I might be best saving the weight and getting back on the bike quicker (or 10 mins extra sleep).

I always think the extra comfort and morale I get from a warm 'meal' is worth every minute and gramme it takes :) I like you am not racing it. Although have raced distances, then I'd probably leave behind.
Views, Rest and warm scran! Why race it? :-D (although I do understand why it'd be raced too)

The noise goes quiet when I'm on my bike :)

Cash is a lightweight way of enabling warm food to be had
Re: BB200 hot food or not?
Cash is useless unless there is somewhere to spend it though.

If I stop for long enough to make food, I'll never start again. I'll be carrying a bunch of portables as well as tons of sweets.

This is a much easier decision once you've seen the route! Wait for tomorrow and see what's available on the route.
My experience is that a stove will absolutely keep you in bed or bivy for longer. You need to choose if that's a problem or benefit

Re: BB200 hot food or not?
Thanks for the help.
Now I have seen the route I'm cutting weight as much as possible. The less I have to drag up those climbs the better!
So hot food will rely on the cash system (and living with the likelihood of not passing anywhere open).
