Tatogear AB-13 Remote Feed Stove
Going to try one of these:
More info here: http://www.tatogear.com/product/ab-13-a ... ick-stove/
Just waiting for it to arrive from the States (ordered via Mat @ UkHammocks). Will be interesting to see how it compares to Stu's stoves (though for a true test I'd also have to buy his RF version - stove frenzy :?)

Yeah but by the time it arrives all the cool bikepackers will be using dual 'hob' remote feed stoves with seperate ON/OFF for each burner
*Work in progress - it's actually quite complicated.

I saw one of the Tato stoves a while back and was considering one. Like your 8g ones (which I have) there's something very cool about being able to cook* with something so diminutive, particularly as my earlier years were all based around using a Trangia (steel woks work very well I found ).
When the RF version turned up it was a toss-up between that and one of yours. Ever keen to be the kid on the block withthe "different stuff" thought I'd give this a go.
* after a fashion

Stu, can you please stop developing new kit !!!
I'm scared to open half of your posts as I know it'll just end up costing me money

Fear not Mark, this is just a play thing. I dread to think what it would cost to actually produce and sell one
However, I am hoping that some of the ideas / bits might filter through to other stuff at some point. Adjustable heat output would certainly be one - turn it up to boil, then turn it down to simmer ... the Holy Grail of meths stoves

All i can think would be some way of varying air flow?s8tannorm wrote:No, that's just a way of diverting heat ... we're talking proper uppy and downyTrangia simmer ring?

Re: Tatogear AB-13 Remote Feed Stove
Good guess Ben. You can't really alter fuel flow to a meths stove, although you can alter vapour pressure with much messing about, so that really just leaves air flow.All i can think would be some way of varying air flow?
This is one of the burners. It lives in a sealed box within the main body of the stove, the box has an adjustable air vent which is controlled from the outside ... turn it one way to increase output, turn it the other way to decrease it - simple (but very fiddly)
I've just noticed the inner air holes need de-burring
