The Peak District will see the Bear Bones / AlpKit Big Night Out roll into town (village) on the weekend of Sep 27th - 29th.

You'll get to ride some great trails, sleep under the stars and join in with everything taking place at the AlpKit Big Shakeout on Sat night / Sun.

It does ... £25 gets you:

In to Shakeout on Fri night, then it's off into the hills aiming to be back by 5pm Sat. There'll be a special BB bivvy friendly camping spot for Sat night, where you can pitch up on your return. Once back, enjoy the Shakeout on Sat night and Sunday. You will also get fed on Sat night too.

Sounds really good. I'll definitely be signing up for this.

Stu - not sure if it is just me, but I couldn't see the info on this event from the URL you posted - until I clicked at the top-left of the screen and it brought me to this URL (where the info is): http://www.bearbonesbikepacking.co.uk/index.html

Have you put the correct price? Shakeout costs £45

Yep price is correct ... but remember, anyone entering the BNO will be off site from 8pm Fri until late afternoon Sat, so it kinda works out. I also believe that the £45 Shakeout entry inc' a T shirt where as this doesn't, although it does inc' a meal on Sat evening.

We have special wrist bands and possibly snipers so this isn't a cheap way to get into the bigshakeout on Friday night. Anyone that develops a "mechanical" will be given full support to get back on the road, which includes me getting my Halfords multi-tool out and lending you a couple of patches. I'll want them back though.

Hopefully it will be good night/day riding with some quality time to catch up with fellow riders.

Cheers

Bought a ticket. If I wait untili I know I'm free then no doubt that'll be too late. Might as well chance it as it's local-ish.

Entry to the main shakeout is £20 for U16's, so i'd assume half price for the Tramping
Also no option on the entry for kiddies
(this may/may not be the answer you want)

Thanks chew - I think that meant it may be half price for the kids to come for the bb option for the weekend, so £50 for the three of us. Hopefully stu will confirm this when I sort the tickets out.

Better get my sewing machine out again as they have bigger bikes now and the bags I made before dont fit - kids just grow out of everything so fast :D

If there under 16 then the same rules apply as the std entry into the BSO, otherwise it's the normal price.

Hi nick,

Not sure what that means. they are both under 16 but will be coming as part of the BNO rather than just to the Bigshake out.

I can't find any rules specific to children on the site. only the reference to a quiet family camping area, I think my two will be ok they have a good grounding of motorbike rallies and glastonbury so i think they will cope with the noise

Is there anything else i need to know?

Cheers

As long as there is an accompanying adult at the Big Shakeout, then there shouldn't be any problem.

Tickets have nearly sold out, so if partners or friends are being met, and they haven't got a ticket they need to get a move on.

I would have liked to have done this but I organise the Edale skyline fell race which was postponed due to heavy snow in march and is now on the 29th. Ill be at Edale village hall for most of Saturday so if anyone wants water or maybe some snacks then call in if you are passing!
