New Reba's and poploc question

Post by welshwhit »

Evening all,

Proud moment as this evening I removed old heavy forks and replaced them with rockshox Reba's. even managed to make sure the are no rattles, all nice and smooth complete with poploc remote switch!

Proudness slightly diminished when I realised that on the remote when it says its locked.... Fork says its unlocked. And when the remote says unlocked... Fork is locked!

Have I completely messed this up or am I being incredibly stupid??

Thanks

?? Have you put the cable onto the fork-top adjuster the right way round?

Yep, well I think so.

It's arranged to pull the dial on the crown to change it. So when the crown dial is not under tension it's locked. Pushing the lever to the "locked" position turns the crown dial under tension to be "unlocked"!

That's exactly the opposite to the Rebas and SIDs I have.

On one make their money some how ;) it's a pushloc rather than a poploc that means the default is locked! So you're forced to buy a remote. The older one will work though it'll just be opposites

Well I ditched my poploc soon after fitting it. Remembered to put it on whilst climbing, then would mostly forget to undo it on the downs.
