Welsh Winter Bivvy ... some pics.
Everyone started off dry. There was a light dusting of snow on the mountain tops. It was looking good.
Some lovely and in places fairly technical trails to ride.
A top secret and rather special overnight spot* ... complete with fairy lights and SBF doing a Father Christmas impression. Mr Snorey on bottom right, already 'ted for bed' ... must have been about 6.30pm
A little worried watching Pedalhead get to grips with the worlds biggest condom ... not sure what he had in mind but Fantastic looks eager to get stuck in
The 2012 winter bivvy trip cooking award went to Ian ... smoked salmon for breakfast, that's posh.
The return leg dawned early (in part helped by Mr Snorey) and started with a nice steep, muddy push. Then came the nice long climb but it was all finished off by more descending back down to the trail centre cafe in the rain
*I could tell you where it is but then I'd have to kill you!
May the bridges you burn light your way

Mark was *very* snorey!
Re: Welsh Winter Bivvy ... some pics.

No photos of the main course the previous night? The 2012 winter bivvy trip cooking award went to Ian ... smoked salmon for breakfast, that's posh.
(Sirlion) beef teriyaki with red peppers, mushrooms and Udon noodles (and eaten with bothy-crafted hazel chopsticks) followed by proper Christmas pudding, steamed properly for 20 mins on my meths stove 8-)

Oh, and there was definely some snoring coming from over the other side of the bothy to where Steve, Mark and I were. Putting my ear plugs in at 12.30am was a good move - slept straight through until 6.30am.

Looks excellent - over night accomodation looks brilliant (worth dying for the location Stu? ) - another date to put in the calender for next year to get everyone out somewhere.

Here's the winner of 2012 pseudo middle class party food winter bivi award .
Although Ian lost marks for the presentation (At least I used a Spaceman plate), extra marks were gained for the making of chopsticks.
