Mid Wales Inn at 120km does food I seem to remember, although you might need to be giving it full beans to get there in time.
We're passing within about 1km of the cafe at Bwlch y Sarnau too...

Seems to be saying access denied.

Unrelated, I'm struggling to find anything other than natural water in the first 60km. I can probably last that long, but I'd rather not restrict my drinking that early in the ride.

You mean there's "unnatural" water?

@Asposium - yes, access denied is what I get.

For the 300:

60km - Ponterwyd
130km - Newbridge on Wye
140km - Llanelwedd (Builth Wells just off route)
164km - New Radnor, just a pub I believe.
190km - Knighton
207km - Clun
268km - Llanidloes

A few others (300 route)

- slight diversion at 103km to Rhayadar visitor centre
- slight diversion at 123km to Garage with a GREGGS!!!!
- 147km pub at Hundred House

Any idea what time shop at Newbridge shuts?

DHMO ;)

...and I had seen the Greggs.

The problem with the Rhayader diversion isn't so much the 5-6km it adds to the route, more that both ways of getting there are down then back up after eating. I'd much rather it reversed!

You going as the crow flies? Going down the road / back should be about 5km there and back.

You can push / carry up/down the stairs but that's not faster.

create a new layer, add the route GPX, bingo

or

export the POIs to a GPX, add to Garmin basecamp, add to the Garmin weapon of your choice.

For the 300 riders... getting to Hundred House for food would be pretty challenging. They stop serving at 9pm.

Though there's two more hours for porky scratchings and beer.

The pubs in Newbridge should be doable. The alternative is a slight detour to Builth Wells for a chippy.

Yeah, I've got a waypoint setup with a target time for that one. I reckon if I'm not at the turn to Builth by 20:15 then I'm not going to make Hundred House.

I mean, I'm definitely not going to be anyway, but I like to be prepared.

Edit - Hmm, the chippy and burger king in Builth close at 9pm, but there is the co-op as an option (11pm).

On the Elan Valley thing... on the 300 you get two options for stopping there. So if you're feeling particularly good at 103, you get another option at 115. But the second option has a much less enjoyable hill to get back up. Though you'd need to be quick to hit it on that second option (I think it closes at 5pm?).

For those thinking of dropping to visitors centre at elan if u take the second option then there's a sweet singletrack footpath down through the woods to the lower road by toilet block but ul have to comte back up the road which isn't too bad.

That's a bit sparse.
Any ideas what the Llangurig PO is likely to offer?
It's either a good fill up there or sh1t or bust for the Welcome take away. :???:

I'm hoping there's going to be a few more supply points. BTW the post office at Llangurig shuts at 2pm on Saturday

Looks like the café at Bwlch y Sarnau is only open Friday afternoons. Think I'll be carrying a lot of food then!
