Anyone got a Chromebook?

Post by jay91 »

Thinking about getting a Chromebook for the family to use we have a ageing iPad it's nearly useless

I understand they have usb/SD slots

Can you move photos from camera to external hd using usb/SD drives like a windows laptop?

Can you move gpx files to and from Garmin/Strava etc?

That's the only thing I need out of it really the kids will use it for web don't really want to spend loads.

Edit. Me and the wife both have android phones.i known you can use apps and Google photos

I've struggled to download a gpx from the tinterweb via the Chromebook onto a GPS but I'm not that much of a geek. My kids might be able to do it but I certainly can't.
No idea on the camera front.

I've never had any issues with anything you've mentioned, and my chromebook is my only computer (minus my phone).
I think you should be fine :-bd

Same as on a Windows PC. Right click-Sav as into your gpx folder.

Then drag/drop onto the folder in your connected gps. Might be able to bypass straight to the GPS but I always like to keep a copy so haven't tried. Now I have the wahoo it just syncs them direct from RWGPS anyway....
