WTD: Mess Tin

Hi groovers, my son has the smaller part of a mess tin set (genuine SAS issue and all that!) but he is missing the bigger tin. Has anyone got one / a set they don't need any more - I know they are only a fiver or so, but thought I might help someone clear some kit out !!!! M

really? I wouldn't bother they are useless, hateful things, that have a habit of scalding your hands when the handle folds up on you, whilst trying to drain the water out.

I remember doing my basic and having to polish them up to a mirror finish.

Leave them for the cadets.

You would be better off with a trangia 27 as a cookset. I can't imagine any special forces using them, we certainly didn't and just used a metal mug for everything, the hexi stoves even started coming with the support to fit the crusader mug. Don't get me started on hexi, even more nasty.

Thanks - He is only 9 and really likes it, so ho am I to kill his enthusiasm!! We have a trangia set already and have had for past 20 years and agree they are brill. This is just for something a bit different! Thanks for your comments though. M
