We went down the Chute (on the Mach 3 trail) on Sunday, was great fun. Some very wet/muddy sections around there

Different one ... in fact, it's the one you went down on the route I gave you to Nant Syddion.

Ah, I know which one you mean now! Thanks. We had horrendous weather when we did it (heavy fog, heavy wind, heavy rain, dark), rode bits of it but that was a bit risky, was very loose and slidey! I bet its a lung/leg burner going up that!

There's a theme for another Winter Event emerging - 'Chuting the moon' - all the Chutes in the area, there must be more than 2. As long as the weather isn't too grim that would be quite good fun!

Top is located at SN 807804. There's a forest road at the bottom or a shortcut through the trees and over a little bridge ... direction depends upon which side of the valley you want to end up on.

A great, cold, wet, windy, mucky, fun weekend.

Incredible part of the world, and such a privilege to be able to ride it.
And great to put some further faces to names, and to say hello to some of the people I met at the WRT last year.

Hope the Nant Syddion bothy party was good - sorry i couldn't make it. Having headed up the Mynydd Esgair / wind farm side (west of the B4518), and almost been blown off the top, I revised my ambitions massively downward!

So I bimbled about the top for the afternoon, had a good (but slow) ride, then headed down and found a good spot to hammock overnight, by a stream and a waterfall. I was all tucked up by about 8pm and think I somehow managed to get about 11 hours sleep, despite the gales that woke me at 2am for an hour.

Hope everyone had fun, and got back in one piece, more or less.
