Don't have any other info at the moment. Delayed flight to London yesterday, will update if he posts anything else...
Re: Tour Divide 2016
yeah bummer - thats my worry.
I was looking at flights and ive had bad experiences flying with my bikes.
The only way i seemed to get direct to calgary was out of gatwick - which is handy when i live in Aberdeen :(
hope it turns up greg.

Greg is demolishing the buffet breakfast table.
Bike will be dropped off at hotel
Greg and bike getting shuttled to Banff
Poor old me riding Canmore to Banff solo now!
Still, I made some new friends yesterday!

Anyone expecting him to be a contender with the big boys or just out for a nice ride?

Is any first timer a contender?
Isn't it said that you ride it first to learn the race to race it the year after?
Glad Guy is riding and sure hope he has a blue dot over his head

I'd be edging my bets Guy will be going flat out, he's fit as a fiddle, so maybe going for an ambitious win. Perhaps?JohnClimber wrote:Is any first timer a contender?

I don't think he would give up the TT week lightly to go on a cycle touring holiday

Looks like Guy's rohloff has had the SRAM mod to allow shifting via the drop bar levers. Remember seeing this a while ago but would be keen to know more.

JC, I think a number of rookies have taken very credible 2nd places, that's in contention to me. More importantly it's great style to finish close to a fast vet as a rookie.
Guy's there for his own reasons, good reasons. He seems very respecting of what's coming up and the experience of others riding it. I think he'll ride and race well however it goes.

Hassle getting fuel and pass enough places that you can get warm food. Well, that's my reasoning.Pirahna wrote:Feel free to take the piss, but why does nobody take a stove?

Just looking at the pic of Guy's bike again and I have to say, I've never seen 'chippers set with the hooks so flat?

Take a stove, then you need fuel, then a pan and then it starts adding up weight and bulk.johnnystorm wrote:Hassle getting fuel and pass enough places that you can get warm food. Well, that's my reasoning.Pirahna wrote:Feel free to take the piss, but why does nobody take a stove?
As Mr Storm says, they'll be plenty of places to get food from on the route, they'll pass enough towns to get coffee, donuts and hot food, just requires a little bit of planning
Re: Tour Divide 2016
Good luck guys. Hope you have fun and happy trails!
