Post by Bearbonesnorm »

I'm surprised John hasn't mentioned this but there you go.

Anyway, KLite are now available in the UK through Travers Bikes.

The power and price looks great and I was very tempted to have it on my new build.

But
1) I don't do enough multi day trips to justify it
2) I don't race 24 hours races
3) If I was to do either 1 or 2 I might not chose to take the new bike out on it I might take one of my other non dynamo bikes
4) I don't commute by bike

I'd love to see a side by side test with a Revo :geek:

Did someone mention my name! Yes, Whoop, Whoop I am now importing the kLite dynamo system and lights. http://www.traversbikes.com/klite.html

Here is a back to back review of the kLite and Revo dynamo setup http://www.tourintune.com/bikepacking-d ... e-vs-revo/

This was done before I was a dealer.

I'd second that for a great comparison, especially on the beam pattern, as the K-lite head looks smaller than the Revo.

I had some of their products when I lived in Australia. I would never buy one again, there weren't very well made. I now use a Revo and a Diablo, which are very well made and plenty bright enough.

Did you contact Kerry about the issues? He is very helpful. What was the actual problem you had?

Wish I'd known this was in the pipeline; would have saved me around £60 on my very recent order direct from Kerry in Australia. Just loved how UPS charged me an extra £11 'brokerage charge' on top of the import VAT - cheeky b------s!

I can't remember what went wrong now, but I tried several times to contact them and never heard back from them, shocking service for an overpriced product. I wouldn't touch them with a barge poll.

kLite kit has landed and the first batches are being sent out to UK customers. Plenty of lights in stock, plus bar and top cap switches and even a Jones bar mount!

What's so different about the Jones mount?

Following this post, a very battering ride on the rigid forks, Lauf doing me a fantastic deal on a Carbonara 29er+ (& fatbike) fork.

I will edit the above
1) I'm hoping to do more 3 to 4 day (or longer) trips in the future
2) I won't be doing 24 hours races but autumn after work rides are on the cards
3) I now have a new dynamo on my bike packing bike
4) I don't commute by bike, but who knows what happens in the future

And after having a chat with Michael Travers one of his K-Lites arrived today, although it should have arrived on Friday ready for BearStock
and here it is on the bike at the first attempt, The loose end cable is to a Sinewave which Michael is wating for a connector to fit to it so I'll have USB charging

Image
Top left, shows the light that comes with several different brackets and fixings
Top right, shows the switch. This controls 100% of the power to either the light or in daylight to the other outlet for battery and phone charging
On the top tube, is a switch and a small back up battery pack to keep the light on when stationary, plus a switch to alter to offer a high and low light setting.

I guess a nice and compact stem cell type bag would be great once the Sinewave arrives to put everything into.
But who makes such a bag?????

Other shots

Where's that Gnome?

And as my Garmin Dakota 20 wont charge directly I got this off ebay to connect to the sinewave to charge the spares.

Review and night light power shots to follow
