I have one of the Elite Racer bags, pack size is super tiny. Got it mainly to use as a liner for a slightly heavier bag.

Was a bit chilly in it alone in the lakes the other week, think that was probably somewhere around 3 degrees but would have been fine if I was just after a 2-3h sleep...

My partner and I have both got Hanger 18 480gm bags - https://www.h18orr.com/products/down-sleeping-bag

I've slept OK (not great) in mine in a merino base layer and woke to find frost in the ground and fresh snow on the tops when camping in the lakes.

My partner's completely nesh though so is selling hers. It's only been used for one trip and always stored in a mesh bag. Looking for £70 posted if you're interested?

Rich, check out the UK Hammocks quilts. The one I used in Devon and Wales and will on the YD300 is one of theirs. They could do a custom one event lighter if you asked them.
Mine actually weighs 595g, but I heard of somebody with a custom one at under 400g.

That sounds reasonable to me. Shoot me a PM and we'll work it out.

Yep, it's genuinely astounding as to how different it works compared with a normal sleeping bag. Obviously if you use it inside a bivy bag then it's limited by the size of the bivvy

This one is looking like a particularly good deal: http://sleepingbags-cumulus.eu/uk/categ ... d=62&vid=6
Cheers I've ordered one. For just over £100 that seems a steal.

There was a bloke on eBay making quilts. I bought one of his from Mr Barter (IIRC). Just get him to make you something - bit of down or climashield / lightweight synthetic, trim it short and narrow, stitch through, etc. I imagine you could get down to 3 or 400g and have something suitable for emergency / race regs.

Alternatively I have one of those summer bags (name escapes me) that I want to sell. Effectively a shell with a couple 100 g of down. Can weigh it if you want.

Cheers, but I've just bought mjsmart's one as sort of a mid level option and grabbed one of those ridiculously light Cumulus ones for when I'm feeling suicidal.

Cumulus bag just arrived. Wow... light doesn't even come close to describing it. Even in the cardboard box with mesh sack it weighed next to nothing.

Will you be testing it out soon?

I might drag it into my garden tomorrow. ;)

Depending on weather, I might even consider taking it to the YD300 with me.
