Small Speaker

Just a thought - anyone else listen to music whilst riding? I did steal the free Pringles speaker off the kids to prove the concept and see if I liked it
So now I'm looking for a small portable speaker, ideally waterproof, USB rechargeable, Bluetooth not essential if I can run a cable from iPhone headphone socket
Sound quality doesn't need to be brilliant what with wind noise as you cycle, but need to be able to be able to mount securely so it doesn't bounce around

Just cant seem to locate what I need - anyone got any thoughts on where I can get something like this?

I occasionally listen to music when biking, but only if the terrain is on the easy going side and mostly only on routes I rode before.

I use earphones. I guess for me it's either-or...

I alternate a few different ways depending on where I ride, personally I know dont listen at all on roads with traffic for safety.

Off road trails and bike park type rides I just use sennheiser in ears, phone in jersey with the cable run underneath.

For touring or with my partner I occasionally use an X-mini speaker, excellent depth of sound for a tiny portable. Battery lasts around 6 hours now but can be charged via USB, I've used a USB Powerbank for this

No bike mount but I fits in my top tube bag partially unzipped with the cable running to my phone in the Framebag, phone gets stored in a neoprene case inside a half zipped aLoksak for protection.

And yes, all of this is to listen to 70s hard rock/ hair metal

+1 for X mini, not waterproof but durable, good sound projection and cheap so easily replaceable as necessary. Saying that, current one has done 2 years of quite hard use in a wide variety of situations, including at sea in pretty wet conditions...

The BoomBotix speaker takes some beating: https://boombotix.com/, but it comes at a price.

I picked up a Outdoor Tech Buckshot last year which still has pretty good sound quality and is reasonbly priced.

I've had an x-mini for years, it's ok for what it is

I've got a JBL flip 2 which is a Bluetooth speaker. Love it. Sound quality and quantity is pretty good for price and comes with a handy case. Don't take it bikepacking though

I've had an x-mini for a few years now, plenty loud enough for this 1970s heavy rock freak Not had reason to test its water resistance or otherwise.
