Tom and I are going to do the Lakeland 200.

Those who've done it will know how much fun it is going to be.......on a tandem. :)

An Easter weekend in the Lakes could be torture enough ... without the pushing, carrying and tandem.

Good luck fellas :-bd

I'm off for 6 days bikepacking in north west Slovenia with a couple of others. Flying out on Thursday and back next week. If I don't get caught up in an avalanche or mauled by hungry bears coming out of hibernation...

Plan is to ride as much of this route as we can (depending on snow conditions) http://www.bikepacking.com/routes/bikepacking-slovenia/

Booked my flights at the end of January, I was then committed. They've had a ridiculous amount of snow there the last few weeks so it's going to be an adventure for sure.

Will take lots of pics for you!

Giacomo

p.s was great to see a few Bear Bones jerseys representing at Battle on the Beach last weekend!

it's not that I can and others can't, it's that I will and others won't.

Please tell me Alasdair is taking a Spot - I feel he needs support - or heckling at the very least!

The benefits of working in an FE college means I've got the next two weeks off :-bd
No set plans as such except for the usual paint the house blah blah blah.

But I should be taking delivery of an Alpkit Ordos tent today which will no doubt be used....

Five days on the Isle of Wight with my daughter.

I'll post this in the routes section later. I had the ride round the South Peak Loop (anti clockwise) earlier today. Memory Map exaggerated the climbing slightly, so 70 miles 2700m ascent just under 9000 ft. Just over 7 hours riding time, the slog up Gratton Dale was not pleasant, it's bad enough going down it. Could be done easily on CX bike so leaves the window open
and could be done in 2 day as there is plenty of opportunity to bivi in some nice places.

Was over in the North of the Welshness staying at Tremadog with a bunch of kayaking mates, aiming to paddle, bike and take pics. Rode Llandegla red and black in blazing sunshine on the way over on Friday, took pics of the others paddling in the rain at the Tryweryn on Saturday then all the rivers went off their heads overnight so two of us rode a mixed bag at Coed y Brenin on Sunday and Degla blue with snow at the top on the way home on Monday. Oh, and got mildly inebriated and devoured large quantities of posh cheese in a climbers bunkhouse on three consecutive nights.

Storm Katie put me off five nights of cycle touring so I drove over to the FoD for a couple of days of downhillin' and dagging about. God that place must be fun when its dry. The campground I stayed it looked like a bomb site this morning. Very gad I slept in my van. Tents down everywhere, bin lids and folding chairs littering the pitches, kids running around with their coats unbuttoned. Total anarchy.
I'm just going outside ...
