WTD: Carbon / plastic tube ID: 20mm

Post by welshwhit »

Hi folks,

I don't suppose anyone has a small length of carbon or plastic pipe ~30-50mm long with an internal diameter of 20mm and external diameter of ~22mm?

Happy to pay and cover postage

Thanks

Overflow pipe from a wc or cold water storage tank should do it.
Get your hacksaw out ;)

Andy

Edit - May not be 20mm internal

Carbon handlebars? I have some I am happy to cut up but they're in the garage. If they are the correct size you can have them.

I have some plastic bit somewhere that my ergon grips came on that are that size (I think), and some ALU tube (I think 22.2 OD, and 1.6 wall thickness or something like that.). How strong does it need to be? Is the ID the governing requirement?
Steve's offer sounds better if they're the right size, I'd expect ID to be smaller than 20 on handlebars though...

Thanks both,

Yes it's the internal diameter that's the key, I have a SPDT switch that I want to mount to be able to switch the feed from the revo to the usb charger or just off.

So overall the strength requirement is low, the plastic bit may be a winner Zippy, but don't worry too much if you can't locate it!

Steve, thanks for the offer to cut up the bars, somehow seems wasteful to get tg small piece I would need, many thanks though!

Thanks again chaps

Hi Drew.

Found the ergon packaging bit of plastic, it's 18.8mm ID measured this morning on a ropey set of verniers.

I have however found an old battery case for a 18650 Li-ion battery which did USB output. That's 20mm ID. Made of anodised ALU I think.

Let me know if you're interested and send me your address, I can pop it in the post tomorrow. Send me your email if you want a photo?
