I recalculated the elevation on Ride with GPS, it's saying 126.1 miles and 16382ft / 203km and 4993m

5500m now on bikehike. Preferred the 750m it first told me. Now for the knowledge of the locals....is it mostly rideable?

The route doesn't actually cross, the whole thing runs clockwise.where the gpx makes a cross near penyffordd whitch way do you go round the top of the fig 8

Re: BB200 Route Details
From previous BB200s, I reckon 7000m is realistic, as the elevations built from map tiles aren't very accurate.
Re: BB200 Route Details
Oh god... four cat 2 climbs.
Edit - Are there actually any flat bits? It looks like every bit of it is either up or down.

Re: BB200 Route Details
Crikey! 7000 metres of ascent in 200Km is a lot. The YD300 had (slightly) less than that and this weekend's YD200 had just 4500 metres.

Re: BB200 Route Details
Basically, it's the same amount of climbing as the South Downs Way Double, in just over half the distance. Yay*
* still haven't decided if i can even be bothered to start.

What's the crack when we finish/bail? Can we sleep in the centre if it's say 3am.?
Re: BB200 Route Details
This is not a kind route for anybody 'carrying a bit of timber'
Bugger!!

Re: BB200 Route Details
So this GPX is obviously lacking in accuracy... to have done it properly, just how accurately are you supposed to stick to the line?
I can already see one section where I'd say the obvious path is not where the GPX line goes (though they do join back up again about 0.2 miles later).

How do you know that what the map shows is accurate and that the deviation of gpx line isn't actually intentional? So this GPX is obviously lacking in accuracy... to have done it properly, just how accurately are you supposed to stick to the line?

Because it's significantly off the roads we'll be following in places... or are you suggesting we cut corners and stick exactly to it.Bearbonesnorm wrote:How do you know that what the map shows is accurate and that the deviation of gpx line isn't actually intentional?
I'm actually pleasantly surprised so far. I'm only about a third in, but it's suspiciously rideable from what I've checked...Bearbonesnorm wrote:I'm overwhemed by the amount of moaning already ... roll on next Sunday
