29+ tyre pressures

Post by Stevemorg »

Settling in with the Rooster now - great off road but a bit of a bugger on the road getting to the trails (as expected I guess) My concern is how it'll feel on long days out bikepacking on fire roads - I think I'm running the tyres a bit soft ATM though 9psi front/14psi rear - not tubeless (and I'm carrying a bit of bulk!) - what pressures are people running?

12psi front and 13 rear in my tubeless setup 27tpi knards. May well be different for the thinner 120tpi tyres but I find this spot on for my slender 95kg frame.

edit: I tend to find 11 up front feels lush and plush but tend to feel rim hits on occasion so 12 was the safer bet.

I was running mine 20psi front and 22psi rear, simply because that was the pressure they seated at when I fitted them and I didn't get around to lowering them until today.
I adjusted them a bit by feel on the way home today. I've just checked them with a gauge and they are 10f & 12r. I'll see how that feels tomorrow.

Ballpark, loaded, 13F, 14R, unloaded 11.5F, 12.5R, give or take .5PSI. That's on 50mm mulefuts and chupacabras, run tubeless.

Not that I play about with pressures incessantly.

Chronicle on a 35mm rim on the front at 10 unladen and 12 with kit.

Have a 2.35 ikon on the same rim on the back. That's at 13/15
