Me too late last year, did you find it hurt more than most things or was it just me?

The tendon had been properly used and abused since and still no return of the tendinitis.
it certainly seemed painful around the small ligaments that are close to bone, I guess the 'waves' don't spread as far and are concentrated there. I'd not heard of it before I had the treatment but was very impressed.

Rode tentatively on Friday (to a pub) then something longer on Sat and a decent SS ride on Sunday. Looks like I should be ok to ride. Which is nice.

Let the weather watching begin.

I've had my name on the list for this from the beginning, but after a two month lay off earlier in the year, I didn't think I'd make it. As last weekends 275km ride didn't kill me I've decided to give it a bash. Not going to break any records but looking forward to having some fun over two days with a sensible nights sleep part way around :-bd

As my first ITT I'm just looking to get round. After some mega-faffing on Saturday I think I'm sorted - famous last words  Just need to decide what food to take.

Current weather forecast looks good for Saturday with rain coming in sometime Sunday morning which will make the limestone tracks in the latter half, err, interesting.

Ride well folks.

*or rather it isn't right and I'm not risking it as I've two other races and a thing planned this summer :)

I'm back in skip ton. Had a fairly undramic crash in gunner-side Gill I'm fine but my bike cartwheeled down a steep fully. Ripped rear brake hose and snapped one of the bars that clamp saddle in place.

So had no back brake and no seat! Bodged the seat back on and rode 75k back on the road!

It's a tough route. Pretty rideable - compared to some other group start itt I could mention stu ;-)Yesterday was pretty hot. Then windy mid to late afternoon. Rained at 3am.

No idea who is where on the course or how it's going.

Plus I have a picture I'll share on FB that you may be interested in. From the dales cycle centre...

I bailed after 100 miles as my knee went pop at the top of the Roman road (6 mile uphill push :( ), rode 30 miles back on the road in pretty severe pain, gutted!
Next year!

Myself and Mick Collins rolled in at 15:52 for 3rd place honours :-bd

It was easy, not at all windy, the sun shone the whole time. Just going to grab a can of coke and go round for a second lap

Seriously, great route. Tough as any other at that sort of distance. Insane amount of climbing - GPS says 7,900m. Wind a rain made 12 hours in the saddle a hard day today.

Almost glad I had to drop out as I was beginning to fall quite a way behind most, and most still seem to be out riding!

I should add that I rode it in the style of Alan Goldsmith, which was to have an evening meal at the pub, bivvy when it got dark, start riding when it got light and find somewhere to have a cooked breakfast. It's a great strategy

Good effort Ian it sounds tough. Is this route done anti-clockwise?

Yes, anti-clockwise. Was hard, but some great trails. That middle 100km is a real test piece on its own
