Yorkshire Dales 300
I'm sure there was a thread about this but I can't find it
I happened to have another look at the route and it seems that Stuart has made some alterations: http://www.gpsies.com/map.do?fileId=qytxbpcdmfwzasdn
It's now about 20Km shorter so closer to the 300Km mark. To do this he's cut out some of the loops in the NW part of the original so the current route now doesn't go over Kisdon or up on to Lady Ann Clifford's highway and the Coal Road (pleased about that bit!) but cuts down Wensleydale to Bainbridge then up the old Roman Road to Fleet Moss. There's a small change near the end as well so rather than a road climb from Skyreholme it climbs a track.
Overall I think it's better - the fast guys should be able to get to Bainbridge for food in the pub. It's mostly pretty fast riding on old mining or farm tracks with just the occasional technical section. My wife is convinced it goes down the "Gully of Death" as one Strava segment is called.
Now I just need to get properly fit

I'm just back from a recce of most of the middle loop. Weather was, erm, variable strong winds and seriously heavy rain showers.
There's some great riding on it. But the whole route is going to be a rough outing...
Anyone they could get a 'black food voucher' will have earned it ;-)

I'm not sure many sub 24h finishes are expected, if any tbh, it would be a monumental effort!

For every hour I'm over I'll drink a beer. How's that?

Just checked my thesaurus:
drink a beer: colloq I'll get a round in lads. This one's on me. What's yours?
