And the pain begins at 10.05...
Actually, I'd estimate 10.02 for anyone near the front.

So if the current published list is out of date, who's doing it this year then? ;)

Yes it's a good idea. Unless you live close enough to just drive from home in the morning. :-bd

Seriously though we camped at a place nearby last year. The only thing I can remember is that they charge by the tent rather than per person so worth sharing as it would be pricey otherwise.

I'm sure someone will be along soon to give you some useful advice though :-)

This is the nearest campsite, about 1.5 miles from Llanbrynmair - mostly downhill

I camped there last year, and will again this year, but £15 a night, when the prices on their site state otherwise. Think he's milking it a bit.

Hi All,

What is the minimum kit you have to take on this event? I know it was listed on the website but I didn't pay any attention to it and now its hiding! Mobile phone, sleeping bag....?

I'll probably take one or two extra 'luxury' items - food, spares, lights

Thanks,

Richard

Sleeping bag
One of the following: Tent - Tarp - Bivvy bag
F+R lights
Mobile phone

Anything else is down to your descretion (and hopefully common sense)

bike now packed and loaded after a week of faffing with kit choices (please god, no rain!)

shake down ride last night and everything seems ok and not too heavy

2 more weeks of stamping on the pedals and then a relaxed week waiting for the off!

Yoiks!

Loaded the bike up and attempted the "Dartmoor Way" on Sunday. I live in Torbay, so it seemed a fair choice of longish route to have a go at. I needed a decent ride to get me used to the idea prior to this years BB200…

Over 120miles and 13.5 hours later I got home…. It took longer than I thought it would. Average speed just under 11mph with bike and gear weighing just over 47lbs…

I tried to keep stationary time to a minimum and also wanted to "push through" the times when I felt like giving up…

Quite pleased overall.
