ESI grips - slippery when wet?

Post by Bearbonesnorm »

Anyone else have 'trouble' with their ESI grips becoming very slippery in the wet? I have to say, it's not an issue with gloves on but in the summer I don't wear gloves if it's raining. I've also noticed they move about a bit on the bars in the wet too ... something which I believed didn't happen to them

most rubber grips get a bit slippy when wet. i have cork bar wrap on which also is a bit slippy when wet.
i have just got some new esi grips to try em again. wife has a can of harmony at the ready to fit em with......

Had mine for over a year and they have never moved on the bars. I used water to fit them originally, rather than the recommended IPA...

I always wear gloves so cannot comment on the bare hand/grip interface in wet conditions...

Yep, found my ESI's absolutely lethal with glacier gloves on in winter. Like trying to hold on to a bar of soap. Not too bad with normal summer mitts, but I've switched back to Ergon's now anyway...
