Back/bikepacking bidet
Anyone tried a mini bidet?

No paper/wipes to carry or deal with. Avoids "monkey butt" apparently.

Re: Back/bikepacking bidet
Just drill some holes in the top of a PET bottle cap and take it with you?
Re: Back/bikepacking bidet
Would work while the bottle was full, but would soon stop be able to squirt upwards at all. may test that way though before buying. I have an old squeeze soft bottle that may work.yourguitarhero wrote: ↑Sat May 31, 2025 12:58 pm Just drill some holes in the top of a PET bottle cap and take it with you?

Something like this might do the same job for a lot less cash?

Re: Back/bikepacking bidet
Indeed it might.
I was more asking about the efficacy TBH - any positive experiences? It makes sense, and is simple, but it's the first I've heard of it.

Re: Back/bikepacking bidet
That actually looks like a good idea. I often stress about toilet paper amounts to carry with me plus it will save burning it (and possibly the entire hillside as well if by some chance we get similar weather to last month)
Whose going to try one first then?!

Yes , who is going to take a (s)hit for the team
Re: Back/bikepacking bidet
I'm going to try one - turns out there are loads of them available on line, just these ones are small and light - TLS to Rinse More S....?

Erm... I've you've ever been to India or Nepal you'll have learned what to do*, no plastic widgets needed. 'Saving waste' ..
*more hygienic than paper too. As someone said, if you got some sub standard splashed on your face would you just wipe it around with paper or wash it off with water (and soap if you have it)?

Not with a a widget like this but with the practice generally yes - tbh coming back from parts of Asia where a bit of water is all you can use, it felt slightly odd and not very clean to go back to western habits. Billions of people manage it every day w/o a plastic widget, all you need is a bike bottle held in one hand and the other free for business. And remembering which way round it was last timeany positive experiences?

Agree James, but this does look to simplify the process, especially if you've limited water.
I rightly get into trouble for calling my left-handed wife, 'cack-handed'
EDIT: ...my wife, who is left-handed.... I only have one - the n+1 rule should never be applied to matrimony.

Re: Back/bikepacking bidet
Surprised people now seem happy to chat about abluting their nether regions; a while ago I enquired how people contorted themselves for a piss when in bed and got about 2 replies. Maybe everyone wees before bed, I dunno.
Anyway, also surprised nobody's mentioned one of these https://www.amazon.co.uk/Sea-Summit-Kit ... d_source=1
Have got one and occasionally take it with me for a bit of fun. Fill from stream. Easy to then sit over, supporting yourself with one hand/arm on the ground (good strength exercise too) while washing with the other.
Bonus double-use: sou'wester during inclement weather (*)
(*) invert (**)
(**) IMPORTANT NOTE: after emptying from prior bidet usage!!

Re: Back/bikepacking bidet
PS. Am intrigued how one would use one of those squirty gizmos mentioned earlier without having three hands (*)

Surely Viz solved this problem (for cyclists) years ago with the Clag-Gone?

I hope that they calculated the o ring compression correctly including max/min tolerances. Otherwise we know where that bottle stopper is going if those jet holes get blockedboxelder wrote: ↑Sat May 31, 2025 12:47 pm Anyone tried a mini bidet?
