Not the worst it could be (it's not heart failure / cancer), but it's pretty catastrophic for the long term. Double pulmonary embolism (clot in both lungs). Will be on blood thinners for the rest of my life, and that's likely the end of bike-packing for me, at least in remote areas.
Needless to say, I'm gutted. Also annoyed at pushing through it for so long, though it wouldn't have made any difference long term (they think I probably haven't damaged my heart).

11 stone 6.5lbs
From being almost 14 stone this time last year.
Finding it easy to maintain this weight too.
The real benefit is that I've not felt this strong on a bike for 25 years or so

I've got the Dutch Singlespeed Champs in 7 weeks and want to get to 15 st for it.
Last weigh in I was 15.10
We've done a week of strict veggie Keto, no alcohol, we've been good.

Lowest this year I think!
We did 'cauliflower steaks' for the first time last night.... I've actively avoided them on menu's .... they might have even been on the menu for SWWB '24 and I didn't have them ...
I have to say ... I was completely wrong. Very easy to make and FAR better than they have any right to be ! And I imagine a sticky BBQ sauce would be vaguely exciting.
Anyway.. currently 7 weeks to lose 5lb's sounds easy. It won't be. I've not got below 15.2 in 18 months
Hoping to keep going on this for another week, but I doubt SWMBO will want to play ...

Started some light exercise, but still drinking like an alcoholic fish.

My belly most definitely looks 'down' and deflated. Really happy with that even though I don't feel as though I've actually lost weight.
Got a 140 mile round trip commute for a blood taking shift booked for tomorrow. So that should help a little, along with the fact that I'm hoping to make it through today without eating

We're getting the bus to Knighton on Saturday and walking back from there over 2 day, stopping in Leintwardine overnight. Might have to have a beer then as pub G&T prices are prohibitive.
Still absolutely ON IT.

We really enjoyed the walk, was about 24 miles in the end. Weather was perfect.
Keto lapsed due to necessity really. We were solid on it all day but the only veggie thing on the menu was a Halloumi Burger .... I'm not the biggest Halloumi fan.... it's ok but too salty, and the squeak ! Plus I had 3 well deserved beers over the day...
Back on it now, with a kettlebell hiit yesterday, cycling commute on the Brompton in Coventry today and tomorrow....
But ... I weighed today as not around tomorrow and I'm up 3/4lb ..... could be a bunch of things... not concerned.
If it's not to be this week hopefully it'll be next week.

Well, 7kg over 6 months. I think you have a little wiggle room. Looks like my belly is going down, but weight is similar. Probably the pressups.
Been commuting about 100 miles per week on the bikes, without food. So that's really helping! Keep it up all, my uncle Sufi Asghar used to say, try try and try again. Family would get frustrated as he wouldn't stop going out even with kidney failure and the likes

He's the guy we used to mention that would walk the 12 miles from Hudds to Dewsbury. Me and my son have done it a time or 2 now, but attribute it to his fortitude and inspiration. Died about 8 years ago, lovely man.

Mrs B also on it so meals have been pretty consistent and no overeating, minimal drinking (circa 1pt per wk)
1 treat meal per week as a reward. Found I went too low on carbs but when got that sorted weight coming down and started to feel much easier.
Start weight (end of Jan) 93kg
Weight this week 82.7kg
10kg off and down two notches on my trouser belt.
Mrs B also on it so meals have been pretty consistent and no overeating, minimal drinking (circa 1pt per wk)
1 treat meal per week as a reward. Found I went too low on carbs but when got that sorted weight coming down and started to feel much easier.

Thought I might have to join this after messing my back up 5 weeks ago, to the point I couldn't walk, nevermind ride.
I was riding 200-300 miles a week, as well as working full time and juggling family life. Weight was around 75kg, always feeling a little bloated and tired, despite feeling reasonably strong
5 weeks of rest, no work, light recovery movement strengthening/stretching (dynamic cycling app), recently short walks. But most importantly, good diet and more sleep - Down to 72kg and the abs are (almost)back!
Apparently it's possible to over train and over stress the body - who knew?
I was riding 200-300 miles a week, as well as working full time and juggling family life. Weight was around 75kg, always feeling a little bloated and tired, despite feeling reasonably strong

So, pressups, up to 37 without breaking the stance. Not exactly touching nose on the ground which some purist (on another forum maybe) would tell us that it's not a proper push/pressup. Also, since the about March I've been commuting on average, about 100 miles per week with a mix of mtb and road.
So, almost halfway in, belly looking slightly flatter and not really added any weight. I'm gonna class that as a kind of success!

Off in the Moho for 4 nights today but we have keto meals planned. Hopefully won’t do any damage.
And my lad, ( he’s REALLY big ) lost a whopping 11lb this week
… he’s focussed at the moment, doing strict Keto and on Mounjaro
… the combination seems to be working. Long may it continue. My biggest hope is to get him bikepacking again.

That's down another 3lb which, considering we were away in the moho for 4 nights last week is pretty damn good going.
Had 2 pints, one on the Thursday and one on the Saturday, but we managed to stick to keto food wise.
Tried Aubergine Parmigiana and that's a big hit for me.... easy and really tasty ... and keto.
Only riding singlespeed at the moment as I've 2 weeks (today) until we're off to the the Dutch SS Champs in Arnhem.
Still Hiit'ing and started wall sits ... brutal things ... up to 1 minute 40 sec. I could feel exactly the same muscles being used riding up a steep hill SS, so I suspect this is a great exercise to maintain doing.
Would be good to break 14.5 stone in the next 2 weeks. The lowest I've EVER got to was 14st 2lb.
Will keep going while it's easy and I'm enjoying it.
Netherlands might be difficult to keto but I'll see.
Oh and The Boy lost another 6lb this week, and he's actually disappointed it's only 6!

Sticking with keto and hiit & cycling today’s weigh in finally broke the 15st barrier
Came in at 14st 11.5lb
Off in the Moho for 4 nights today but we have keto meals planned. Hopefully won’t do any damage.
And my lad, ( he’s REALLY big ) lost a whopping 11lb this week… he’s focussed at the moment, doing strict Keto and on Mounjaro
… the combination seems to be working. Long may it continue. My biggest hope is to get him bikepacking again.

Can't see it doing much for belly fat, but if it makes your massive leg muscles stronger, they in turn will require more calories to keep them 'fed' so metabolic rate might increase slightly. I'm no expert.
I'm just predisposed to carrying fat around my midriff. My legs have very little fat and are pretty well defined for a 58 year old, my arms are fairly weedy, as is my chest and butt ( I don't have bum cheeks, defined or otherwise) nearly all my weight is carried around my belly and saddlebags. It's just where my body stores it.
