Wanting to buy some degreaser. Seen some expensive stuff in Bike shops (1 litre) and less expensive in motor factors (5litre tubs)
Are all degreasers essentially the same thing?
Don’t mind buying a big tub.
What’s your go to and where from?

I buy the 'no nonsense' stuff from Screwfix. It's quite powerful so I'd suggest diluting a little with water.

Thanks Stu - it’s mainly for doing chains and cassettes
How much dilution for getting rid of general bike crud?

I use the same stuff. Great value but Stu's not kidding - I put some in a handy little alloy bottle with a swing top as it's easier to fill the chain cleaner than the big 5l container. It ate through the bottle and leaked all over the shelfBearbonesnorm wrote: ↑Sun Sep 24, 2023 9:30 am I buy the 'no nonsense' stuff from Screwfix. It may be fine neat for less delicate parts such as chains but if in doubt, I'd add about 30% water to it. The real issue with it (and all degreasers) is allowing it to dry. Thanks Stu - it’s mainly for doing chains and cassettes

I use Gunk (the green one) water based & biodegradable from the likes of Halfords etc works a treat, Just don't go for the red one as its naughty for the environment
