I like the idea of this, I realize that this is a heretical statement in these parts and may result in me being shunned completely

but I don't exclusively wild camp or bivi

. I don't much like your traditional campsite either.

This weekend was a good example of what I like and why this website could be useful. My partner and I had decided we wanted a weekend away camping and fancied doing some walking in a different part of the country for a change. Wild camping was a possibility but we also wanted to lol about camp, cook proper food and not have to turn up late and sod off early and really didn't fancy a formal site. We found a small "site" (not via this website) with a handful of pitches in an old apple orchard with a tap and a couple of toilets. Nice flat pitch, 3 other tents visible through the trees and had the feel of being camped in a nice quiet wood rather than on a huge mowed lawn with people going up and down at the edge of our pitch.
Spent Saturday late afternoon and early evening sitting about cooking and eating and just enjoying the peace and quiet. Nodded hello to one of the other campers near the tap was as social as it got and then had a lazyish start on Sunday enjoying Bacon rolls and tea in the last of the weekends sunshine without feeling like we had to move off before the dog walker's turned up. All in all bloody brilliant it was!
I think there are quire a few people who want this sort of camping and as there isn't currently an easy way to find these sites this may be an answer. As with so many things Nothing for nothing and F*** all for free. Somebody has seen an opportunity to make a few bob off joining camp site and camper together in a slightly niche area and good luck to them, turning a a bit of a profit for having an idea, giving it a go and putting effort in is not wrong in my opinion.
