Have a favourite saddle. A cheap Selle Royal one that fitted me perfectly. Have it on all my bikes.

Been getting some miles in ready for the Loch Lomond Troassachs route at the end of the month and getting a sore bum. So have ordered a Fabric Radius one that will hopefully be comfy for me!
I really thought I wouldnt have to go back to the Which Saddle? thing again
I haven't got an arse. I always thought cycling would produce a reasonable bum but I've not got one. The ex always used to say "get off your flat arse" ...

On the saddles front I was always a Charge Spoon sort of a person, they fitted fine and seems comfortable enough. Then I did my Fishguard - Ludlow BP trip last year and got absolutely reamed by one, oh the pain. Builth Wells to Ludlow on raw sores. OMFG.
I bought one of the weird looking droopy nosed Selle TRK's and it seems much better. Now have one on the Rooster AND the CDF. Sort of intrigued by a Gel version but I'm tight.

Didn't weigh last week as we were on a walking holiday .... I'm not too hopefully of a loss this week though...

All weather Cambium carved c17 has been ace for me at a lighter weight (93kg iirc) and long days or road and gravel, and now at much heavier. My lighter friend also swears by the c15 for road and gravel.

There's often good offers on them if you look about.

Found a cheap Fabric Radius on eBay to try.
For a rigid 29er with quite an upright position so this sounds like the right sort of thing...

I had a Cambium but had to concede it simply wasn't comfortable for me. My lad LOVED them. It might have been a narrower one but it's too expensive to buy a wider one just to try.

March 15th 95kg 14st 13lb
March 22nd 93.3kg 14st 9.75lb
April 5th 94kg 14st 11.5lb

Oh the shame.
A disaster. Put on nearly 2lb. This despite walking the Mortimer Trail ( 3 days 33 miles 5,000' climbing) and cycling 60 miles last week, and I've cycled 30 miles so far this week...
Ok I was 'on holiday' and therefore every night was beer night ( just 2 or maybe 3 bottles) and food was limited to what we could carry, but still.
Luckily I was far enough away from 15st not to tip over that particular milestone.
Onwards and hopefully downwards.

Bit o a breakthrough today here, so I'm reporting it. Came back from the 14 mile ride on which I'd cleared a climb that I also cleared yesterday. But before that, the last time was about 2 years ago and it's not for lack of trying. The weight drop must be helping...

07/04/2023 - 80.9kg

I’ve been a bit more mindful of what I was consuming this past week and I’m pleased to see it’s paid off. The challenge, as ever, will be to stick to that approach next week!

In the interest of fulfilling my curiosity (and possibly yours), I did another weigh-in this am at my usual (non-ramadhan) times. So after using the facilities in the morning usual waking up time

84.2kg. But then this is probably less accurate than the other mid-day weight as I ate 2 weetabix and ready-brek with 300ml of milk; a few dates and about a litre of water. This was all at 0400 and to add to it, my main meal was yesterday at 2000 and since then I've also had another 800ml of water to add to that litre

So I would like to bring to the panel, that a more accurate methodology for me at the current couple o weeks, is to keep measruing weights later on in the day

I get up and weight my self & then do my general evacuations.
Then weigh again & record this 2nd weigh.
What I eat or drink after that is irrelevant ....

Hmmm.... Just had a hotshot parmo and Eton Mess Sundae. I'll not weigh in today....

That was taking my Mam out. Off to my daughter's in a bit for round two this evening

Tbh... after a week in Yorkshire (pies!) and now Teesside (parmos!) I'm sure I'll be higher than the start of the year. Home tomorrow night (as long as the car exhaust part is in tomorrow) , so reboot starts then.

Reboot....
10/04/2023 121.0kg

Down 1.9kg or 24,359 busy bees

Had a seriously bad spell of health recently, the holiday was spoilt a fair bit by it though we did get a 30mile ride in in Wharfdale and a few 4-5mile walks in before I had to succumb to the sofa and binge watch catch up on Alone and Naked and Afraid (we no longer have sky at home  )
My wife's actually cancelled our summer camping (bell tent) holiday in Devon as she's accepted that a fortnight camping with an 11 hour drive each way if going to render me useless. Getting a cottage on the Northumberland coast instead

For anyone who's interested I've been looking at this ladies YouTube channel about binge eating and found some bits useful... https://youtube.com/@bingeeatingrecoverymadesimple

Also Fergus Crawley has a couple of useful videos on dieting while training.
https://youtu.be/3wcRLYtBxII
https://youtu.be/HQjVZ_o0WZQ

And theres a link to the PH nutrition calorie calculator for BMR/TDEE etc...https://phnutrition.co.uk/calorie-calculator
Which might surprise you as the deficits are noticeably less than for many calorie calculators, so the daily intakes are somewhat higher.

Ok, see youse Friday :-bd
