Later our BACS transfer came through for the deposit (well within 2-3 working days).
New car Monday is on.
(Is going from manual petro to automatic Hybrid going to make me lazy).
At least I will be able to see properly in the dark. The Skoda fabia beam pattern was so patchy. It was a pothole magnet :roll:
Going from a Skoda Labia to Honda Jizz..who comes up with these names?
The new cars great. It can fit 2 bike behind front seats. Just wheels off all luggage seat post intact*. Plus other gear in boot. Fitting a third bike & person may be a bit more logistically challenging.
Now named Marina after the Last ofSummerWine wayward & adventurous character. (Yes-I just about remember the Brutish Leyland car ( CSO?) that wasn't as impressive :grin: )

* Bike rack not needed
**As a bonus it's easy to drive & gives good mpg.

Keith Haring's " crossed fingers" design. Ive admired his work since the 80's

Not particularly original idea. I'm sure there are lots of other tattoos out there of the same design.

Happy birthday Phil!

Just got back from my second gig this week, and went to the pub for lunch with some friends I don't see very often, so that's all cheery.

So this business with the balloons and "flying objects" then.

If these military commanders (and what's it got to do with them anyway?) are even just "considering" they "might" be aliens, do they really think it's a particularly spiffing idea to blast them out of the sky without even saying hello first?

I mean look what happened that time Captain Black and his crew let fly at those snake things on Mars. We had the blasted Mysterons on our backs for the next gawd knows how long.

And surely with technology today it's not beyond these people to just capture these slow-moving objects and, you know, just have a look at them?

I know we've got the technology because there was that Russian space craft in Moonraker that opened up and ate whatever crossed its path. Quite impressive.

Oh. Now it seems that after all "Press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre wants to reassure the US population there is no evidence of extra terrestrial activity". Seriously? Well, yes, apparently 65% of Americans think aliens do exist....

Been reading a load of trashy sci-fi shorts recently (cheap off amazon) and nearly all of them are written by Americans about either the future (Americans fighting aliens) or aliens visiting in the present (ditto)

So if aliens ever do visit, and have the tech to read through some popular media, America is the last place they will turn up to....

Someone has been on the funny fags again I suspect, or else this is the best they could do to distract us whilst sneaking through more freedom reducing legislation

I woke up this morning convince it was Friday. Hey-ho I've had a quite Thursday. Finally he alright.*
Then collected my lad from A+E, He was working on a lathe when the chuck disengaged, when coming to a stopsaid guard bashed him in the face..deep cut to his snout. All Suctured up. He annoyed he's miss the rest of his shift!
He wasn't impressed when mum asked l'alright chuck?'.
The cheery bit. Call saying he in a+e, (all manner of dreadful possibities go through your head), but only minor injuries not bothering him. He has all limbs + digits intact . Then we went out for a good proper Italian pizza.
*[edit, I didn't actiualy post this at 00:04}

Well this article is hardly cheery but maybe one can turn it around and say make sure we keep our cycling cheery and not obsessive. Possibly too late for us Here :smile: .

It says runners and cyclists are most at risk. But maybe it's not the cycling or running that is the problem but the type of person who gets into running or cycling. "More research needed".
