Got OS maps on my phone and I 90% love it.
10% is why doesn't it rotate automatically to show the track that you are on and where you are heading towards like other GPS's do?
Or am I missing something in its settings on my phone.?
Can anyone help please?

Re: OS maps on phone help
I've not noticed that so will have to check.
There is usually a function to lock screen rotation or make it automatic, but IIRC on my Samsung it works for the device rather than individual apps.
A complete guess, but if you are trying to orientate map to landscape maybe you don't want it to rotate on screen

I’m almost sure if won’t rotate as you turn, remember reading it somewhere on a hill walking forum this week.

I think Jon means “track up” rather than rotate. I can’t find a setting to do this

Re: OS maps on phone help
Nope not possible on the OS app. Funnily enough when I set the garmin to 'track up' I get totally confused and end up making wrong turns. North up, no probs...

I've dropped them a message and I'm awaiting their reply.
When I get it I'll post it up on here

Reply from OS maps.
Thank you for contacting us regarding the screen rotating with OS Maps.
Currently, the map rotating automatically is not a feature in the OS Maps app. You can manually rotate the screen if you have the iOS app, but this is not available for Android devices, such as your Huawei, at the moment.
This feature is being looked into for the future of the app, however, I have logged this as feedback to pass onto our app development team to highlight the interest in such a feature.

Re: OS maps on phone help
Has anyone tried using Fatmap for navigating? I see that the "Explorer" version has OS maps as a layer (as well as lots of other national Topo maps like IGN). I've just signed up for the 7 day free trial, so will see how I get on. If it works well €30 per year seems like reasonable value.
