Editing gpx files - split & merge

Post by mikejd »

I know this has probably been asked innumerable times before, but I'm having a bit of difficulty editing a route.

I would like to end up with a file for a route which I have ridden in sections but not one go. I have three gpx tracks which cover the full length, and I would like to separate out the individual sections and then join into one.

I have been trying using gpx.studio, which will in theory do what I want. But I am finding it a bit difficult to use, and still haven't managed to achieve it. Can anyone suggest another app or website which will do this?

Garmin Basecamp is the easiest for this that I've found. Old school looking program but easy to do the above.

RWGPS will do this but I think this function is only available to subscribers.

Memory Map for All will do this. The app is free with subscription options for OS mapping. I’ve was testing the software and am very impressed with it.

or bikehike.co.uk - in the 'options' tab you can merge route files. Splitting them involves cutting bits off the end, reversing and cutting other bits off.

Thanks for the suggestions, guys.
I'll check out some of them. I have used RWGPS but not for this.
