Reducing your carb intake should make a real difference. Don't avoid them altogether as that can be quite a painful struggle* but lose the beer, wine, bread, crisps, biscuits etc. For me, it's not simply about calories but what food types they come from.I know I put more on my plate than I should, I was thinking slightly smaller portions and less alcohol with less snacking on stuff in the evening.
*when I experimented with this, I lost 9lb in a week.
