Just found this on ebay, looks like with a single velcro loop on the bottom corner it could be a good cheap starter frame bag

I've just spent three nights wild camping with that Karrimor tent. It's surprisingly good quality, very sturdy and quite spacious but not light. It also pitches inner first if that bothers you.

That's similar spec to the Alpkit PD400, which is considered a bargain at £150 if you can ever get your hands on one. £125 for that looks a serious bargain. Never heard of Racing Planet before?

Yeah I'd been hankering after the PD400 but assumed I'd be more likely to craft myself a sleeping bag from the pelts of direwolves and lined with the skin of unicorns before they get back in stock :)

Likewise I'd not come across RacingPlanet before but, based on a bit of googling, they seem to be pukka / sponsor a load of events. I'll let you know if the transaction goes well via "the postman's been" thread!

Just at the right time of year - cheap down from Uniqlo. Not tried it myself but I believe it's pretty good stuff, given the price.

The Uniqlo ultra light down is well worth having. It fits under your cycling cut waterproof (unless it's already a tight fit) when you're hanging around camp and knocks your sleeping bag up a season or two if you sleep in it. However, there are a lot of other companies in on the act now and you can find similar quality stuff (also with a mini stuff sac) in TK Maxx for £30 -£40 if you're happy with more sober colours and miss the latest Uniqlo offer.

Great PSAs - thanks v much! Just ordered a Uniqlo down vest and a Eurohike down sleeping bag.

Anyone used the Eurohike bag? I'm sure it's not as good as they make out but for £40 I reckoned I couldn't go wrong.

I've got the bag. Very good for the money. Not 4 season. More 2-3. Have used it down to about 0 with merino base layers and a hat.
