Custom dry bags?
The Alpkit 8l Airlock Xtra is very close to my ideal dry bag for mounting in a bar harness. I like the shape, the fact it’s not double-ended, and the tabs to thread the straps through. If only it was about 5cm taller... basically a 9l bag would nail it.
I don’t think this is something Alpkit would customise as it’s one of their products made in China. And I don’t have the skills or kit to MYOG it. Are there any uk outfits that would take on such a ridiculously small job as this? Or anything commercially available that might fit the bill?

Re: Custom dry bags?
They made me two custom 10L drybags out of LS07 a while ago, so worth asking.

Custom made me a bag for my Sawyer water filter which I received in four days.

Re: Custom dry bags?
I got a double ended dry bag from Wild Sky gear too which I'm pretty happy with. Made out of cuben fibre though so not cheap for a dry bag.
Saved 190g over my Lomo one however so £ a g is remarkable.

Re: Custom dry bags?
Be interesting to see how those DCF drybags hold up in the rough and tumble playground of handlebars etc.
Once asked Stu if he'd make me some but he advised against IIRC (poor abrasion resistance - or had something better to do probably ).

It's the 2.92oz hybrid DCF with a face fabric Reg so I'm hoping it's durable. Not had it out yet so I'll report back! Only thing I didn't like is he uses a velcro end for the dry bag which I'm not convinced with, but it's custom so you can ask for what you want!

Got a HUGE solo tarp as well but, similarly, still to get out using it.

Further edit: also I use a Wildcat harness Reg, do you just use straps? I suspect the weight saving might cancel out!

Re: Custom dry bags?
Would also be worried about a pure DCF dry bag in a bar harness, as they take such a battering. But that reinforced fabric looks ok.u02sgb wrote: ↑Sat Mar 27, 2021 9:30 pm It's the 2.92oz hybrid DCF with a face fabric Reg so I'm hoping it's durable. Not had it out yet so I'll report back! I do like to push through trees occasionally (CL300 etc) so I'll post an update!
