Re: Stay at home ends
Yup, the possibility of long covid is the bit that really scares me (from a selfish perspective, apart from the general risk to other people). Reading this rather focused the mind:
https://www.walkhighlands.co.uk/news/lo ... xperience/
TL;DR Fit, healthy, 30-year-old keen outdoorsy person gets long covid, struggles to walk round the block for nearly a year.
That would really feck up your plans for a big summer of bikepacking trips

Re: Stay at home ends
I got it from work. Around 2 weeks of self isolation and then about 6 weeks of general tiredness before I could get back on the bike for a mile or 2... I was careful to give myself plenty of rest for them 2 weeks and took it easy for about 2 months after.

Got my invitational letter for the vaccination this AM so first appointment next week then second at the start of June.
I understand that Long "X" while not common is actually fairly typical of most of these type of viruses, it's just not named as such in most cases. In the case of Covid-19 it's the lung damage that's the problem.

I reckon the 12th then before overnight bike rides can happen,JohnClimber wrote: ↑Tue Mar 02, 2021 9:45 am lockdown restrictions will remain"[/i]
My question reading between the lines is........
Will I get in trouble from the Covid Police if I go wild camping over the Easter Weekend?
#BetTheWeatherWillBeSh!te
although I certainly wouldn’t judge you if you went out earlier
Re: Stay at home ends
Titles a bit misleading John, it hasn't ended yet and it could still be delayed if the hard of thinking decide to take matters into their own hands.
I know in some parts, lockdown is pretty much ignored already but it doesn't help when you post "daily mirror" type headlines just to get people reading it.
Might want to change it.

I wonder why people think this is a forum dominated by a certain type of middle aged man....

Probably because it is mate. It's nice to have a place, for sure, though I do like the regard it as inclusive ... even Reg is allowed to have a say .... 5596 times apparentlylune ranger wrote: ↑Tue Mar 02, 2021 7:55 pm I wonder why people think this is a forum dominated by a certain type of middle aged man....

I resent being called middle-aged - I'm a pensioner. Got the slippers and everything.
But yes it doesn't take much to set us off when we're starved of entertainment (*)

Ah! But are they tartan ones with roll tops and zips up the front? Don’t count if not.

This is what concerns me. With a daughter really struggling with the after effects of COVID it seems fundamentally wrong that there isn’t more of a response to the people with occupationally acquired COVID.redefined_cycles wrote: ↑Tue Mar 02, 2021 3:13 pm I got it from work. In most places, if someone got that ill from work there would be more of a fuss... if you see what I mean? It doesn’t seem right that so many staff have got so ill. Will there be an enquiry/investigation/redress?
