I think my Big Bro would benefit from some 650B+ wheels and tyres .... Ive a set for my OO Fatty and they are easily the best riding size of the 3 wheelsets I have for it. - 29x2.4 Contis and 26x3.8 Nates which I put back on a few weeks ago for winter mud shits n gigs.
I don't mind building them myself because I really like sitting in my kitchen until 2am sweating and swearing for four or five days in a row, but I think this time around I'll go for some custom tailor mades.
Budget around £500, I think, so good carbon rims would be out.
100mm front and 142 rear.
Any thoughts re rims/hubs and a good shop based wheel builder?

I do like WTB Scrapers in both 40mm and 45mm flavours.
May the bridges you burn light your way

Re: Somer 650B+ wheels then
I recently needed to build up a new wheel. My LBS basically bullied me into buying Hope hubs*, or at a push, Halo. I asked if Shimano were really that bad?** "They start off fairly sub standard, and then you ride them once, and they're really sub standard forever."
*They don't stock Hope
**I remember Exage hubs being seemingly indestructible

Scrapers are ace. They're the rims I have on 650B+ Fatty wheels. Suspect I might go back to them.Bearbonesnorm wrote: ↑Fri Jan 15, 2021 6:55 pm I do like WTB Scrapers in both 40mm and 45mm flavours.

Nah, they're really supportive of me and many of my bike related activities, including putting loads of sponsorship into the local bike polo scene.

Ha. Wonder if it’s the same LBS telling me how substandard Shimano hubs are just this morning
