Somebody needs to tell this guy about this place....
I admire this guy for getting out there and doing his thing, but I really wish someone would tell him about this site and Stu's shop in particular. It's an amusing way to spend 16 minutes if you are bored though....

I'm genuinely amazed that he was able to make a brew dangling his flask over an Esbit ... fair play to him

Brilliant
Shows the most important piece of kit is enthusiasm.
Reminds me of a certain Mr Barter. Just less swearing, and more pouting

Well.... less swearing anyway.

Enjoyed that, the enthusiasm is great. Makes a pleasant change from the Facebook Alaska to Argentina part82 spam. 15k subscribers and 18k views on that film alone. Must be doing something right.

Indeed!Shows the most important piece of kit is enthusiasm.
Enjoyed that.
Quite local to me too - I packrafted down that river (the Wansbeck) from those stepping stones in Jan/Feb.
Did find it a bit amusing when he filmed himself filming him going through his frame bag

I enjoyed that. We didn't find out what was in the 50L bergen though? Filming kit and waterproofs?

I'll admit to worrying a little should it rain. I can imagine that river rising considerably quite quickly.

Fair play to the "Benny Hill of Bushcrafting" . Those camera stares were a bit un-nerving to start with , but what a top character, he was certainly having a lovely time there.
I was slightly taken aback with the first 3 seconds where he approached "Brothel Woods" - great bivvy spot!
Not sure about the second-hand loo roll, I think I'd go with his leaves/moss idea for preference .

I assumed that's why his tarp was pitched so high, so he'd have room to float up sever feet on his mattress and still be clear of it?Bearbonesnorm wrote: ↑Thu Jun 25, 2020 9:53 am I'll admit to worrying a little should it rain. I can imagine that river rising considerably quite quickly.

The look to camera at 0.55 made me chuckle - good man and I thank him for that today

Reminds me of spike milligan in ‘The life of Brian’ I expected him to just wonder off stage left and not return.

Yes I thought it was quite funny that all the careful packing of the bike bags was negated by the huge backpack which he kept very quiet about. I think this was his most recent video so it will be interesting to see if he does more bikepacking (even if he kept calling it backpacking). But yeah, great to see someone buying some Lidl bags and just doing it - the bottle stove was very bonkers though. Glad you all enjoyed it.
