WRT Weigh in predictions?
Really don't see how I can get much lighter without getting cold / wet or hungry...or starting with a lighter bike but according to my spreadsheet this is what I should weigh in at with food for the 3 days and enough water for the first couple of checkpoints.
Kit weight (including food and luggage)
GRAMS 9371
POUNDS 20.66
+
BIKE 27.5
=
TOTAL 48.16
It still seems heavy
Last year was 49.5 but I have cunningly made my bike 1.25lbs heavier with bigger wheels and tyres.

Re: WRT Weigh in predictions?
I recon I'll be around the same weight as last year.
I'm testing out some kit for this summers trip so thats going to add a bit of weight, but a few tricks else where which may hopefully offset.
Ian and Paul are in Scotland so the weight wennie prize is up for grabs. Packet of Jaffa Cakes says Ben98 is in for the 'win'

Re: WRT Weigh in predictions?
I should be around the 40lb mark this year as I'm not hammocking.
Re: WRT Weigh in predictions?
Not sure yet but hoping to get into the top ten. Like Restless, having a heavy bike doesn't help.
Re: WRT Weigh in predictions?
My prediction is i will be very heavy!I dont think ill be the heaviest (only because my friend seems to pack the kitchen sink) but the couple of times i have previously been out i have carried far more stuff than i needed! :D
Re: WRT Weigh in predictions?
I was a bit naive last year and took with me a full 3ltr camel bladder, and two 1ltr bottles
this year i've got a travel tap and a smaller bottle so that will reduce my weight by quite a lot :D
unfortunately I'm having tarp issues this year and don't fancy a failure in the middle of the night so I might take my tent which'll add a bit of the lost weight! :(

Re: WRT Weigh in predictions?
Bag is 7kg
Bike with sleep bag+bivy+water is 14kg and thats a singlespeed
So, thats 21kg or 46lbs
Time to repack and ditch some kit i think, altough knowing myself, i'll add that extra layer of clothing, a bit more food etc...

Re: WRT Weigh in predictions?
I'm currently working on about 32lb hopefully, although my scales have died so I no longer can weigh stuff before hand
Re: WRT Weigh in predictions?

When I loaded the car last night I did briefly consider bringing my fixed CX bike which is 6lbs lighter than my MTB, luckily I remembered my complete lack of ability

I think I'm all set to get the wooden spoon on this one.... I think my rucksack is heavier than my bike.
