Metalheart and I were just discussing this at the weekend too.
And my reasoning has been proved correct
Glad to hear Wildcat still going strong (just ordered another ocelot as the straps were cut for a medium mk1 solaris and not a large Solarismax/Sherpa ). Thanks for heads up Stu.
I have one of these, the previous version in fact. It's a vest /gilet with a primaloft insulated front. It is excellent, good in cold weather and as a midlayer. I used mine between a warm base layer and my waterproof during the freezing winter bivy
The Brother cycles Big Bro rigid bike is up for a great price at the moment. If I didn't already have two rigid, steel bike I'd be considering this. There's something really lovely about the way it looks
Been using one a fair bit since Oct - this is possibly the bargain of the year for anyone who rides in the wet/cold, seriously. It's as good as anything I've got at 3x the price, just a tad more lofty but no heavier (220g in a med I think). Really good fit if you're an average to slim cyclist, size up if not.
I managed to pick up one of the cheap Endura Primaloft gilet from CRC when with discounts they had them for £28, been a revelation when it dips below 5 degrees, i love down for it's warmth, but the Primaloft can take the repeated washing so much better.

I'm quite the Decathlon fan, lots of good stuff at reasonable prices. I bought two of the gilets, a large for walking that can be worn over a couple of layers and a neater fit (M) for cycling. (I'm on the cusp of sizes.) The otherday I was out for acouple of hours with the temp at 1-2 degrees, baselayer, the gilet and a Decathlon roadie softshell and I was warm as toast.
My wife bought the jacket equivalent( https://www.decathlon.co.uk/trek-100-wo ... 93272.html ) for £20 (reduced from £30) and she rates it highly. Would recommend it as a good budget insulated jacket.
A while ago I posted about the down blankets we had bought. They disappeared from eBay for a while but are back again now. They are quite big and are just a flat blanket, they do not have a footbox or anything. They weigh around 465g and are roughly 152cm x 177cm. We use them just as they are to boost the warmth of our regular sleeping bags in winter, or they would make a good base for a MYOG quilt or a pied d'elephant or something. That way you could reduce the weight of them by cutting them down a bit. I have used one folded over as a summer bag in very warm weather. I would estimate they probably have around 200g of down in.

PlanetX have 2 WOHO Wildcard framesets. Both 60cm, so suiting the taller person. Seem to get good reviews a look very nice IMO. Anyway, they want £377, there's one in silver and other's orange.
