Yeh, obviously better its looked into and sorted, just bit much to deal with on the back of a knee replacement, so has hit me pretty bad.

I feel your pain...obviously not as serious but I seem to have picked
Up a rotator cuff injury now as well as the duff knee....all adding up to
Next to zero bike time this year

They seem to hand out statins like smarties these days , I have very high blood pressure 190/110had it for years (apparently) never really bothered me found it when I went for my hgv medical at 45 ,docs done my tests cholesterol was 4.2 very good accordingly but on top of ramapril and isitins they gave me statins as I was calculated to have major heart disease before I got 60 ,I maybe one of the lucky ones but I don't suffer with any of the side effects associated with them

Yeah, my cholesterol has been fine on the past. Had bloods taken to check again and was told to expect a prescription for statins is it was out of whack. Don't want to take them at all from what I've read. We'll see...

FTK, Rotor cuff's no fun either. Been there too (old martial arts injury) and have to be careful not to aggravate it. I'm just falling a part with a list of old injuries

Just starting to get on top of my new knee and finally had a treadmill test .
I had one of them a few years ago - They stopped me at 15 minutes and 15% incline and like you I wasn't yet at max heart rate

All my tests seem OK apart from high cholesterol that runs in the family so not sure if its really something I can do anything about
Even when I was doing a lot of running and at my fittest/lightest it was still above maximum and the nurse didn't believe it when I told her how much exercise I did

Hope your results come back OK and you can get back on the bike soon

Interestingly my weight has rocketed this last week. Maybe finally getting over my illness, or possibly just turning into Christmas me.

Sorry to hear about your heart issues M-d hope the medics come up with a fix other than a total ban on cycling. Keep planning your trips especially the 200 miles in a day, that sounds interesting, I would like to join you on that one if you don’t mind? Read an article in Cycling Weekly regarding the link of heartbeat problems to endurance sport, I didn’t realise that the heart is subjected to the same kind of damage as any other muscle when training or trying to get fit. The scarring from increasing its size/strength/efficiency can cause erratic heartbeats, though to be fair other factors such as diet and lifestyle have a bigger effect.
And on that note, diet and lifestyle, I fell off the wagon with a resounding thud this week and weigh 226 lbs but it was fun
Working away alone next week, so it will be hotel, work, gym and repeat till Friday see if I can get a bit off for the next weigh in. :-bd

04-11-18 - 114.5kg or 252lbs
09-11-18 - 114kg or 251lbs
23-11-18 - 113.5kg or 249.5lbs
30-11-18 - 113.4kg or 249.3lbs
07-12-18 - 114kg or 251lbs

Arse!!!

I guess long term consistent willful ignorance of the fact that it's not just energy output but also calorie input that determines overall weight loss/gain is not serving me well.

Nothing for it but yet another attempt at cutting out the crap and leaving in the exercise.

My graph must look like the weakest tremble of a straight horizontal line of failure to apply common sense.

Boo!!!

Ok, back to it.....

I wouldn't worry about it. I've had 2kg in a single day before.

I'm not too worried but my weight doesn't fluctuate too much as long as I weigh myself at the same time of day so it's a little odd. The peanut butter stack was too good to miss though

I've got to say I havent bothered weighing myself today. After my shocker on Tuesday my head went back up my arse, but need to get on track.

Cheers SeannyD,
As for the 200 miler, where are you based? My reasoning for that one is I can get the ferry to Aberdeen, train to KOL and then cycle back to Abz for the ferry home. 322km. My longest pre-new knee is 204km, but I felt with pacing and that route it would be manageable. Will get in touch, if/when its looking a possibility. Obviously the original plan would have been around mid-summer.

See the doc on gravity last night on BBC4?
The place where you'll be the lightest in Britain is on top of Dartmoor. 30-35g lighter than at the base of Snowdon. As I'm at 60*north and sea-level it must give me at least an additional kilo or two right? :???:

Live in Fife so no problems getting to Aberdeen or the Kyle. Just a bit of notice and it’s sorted :-bd

06/01/2018 - 67.6kg

-------------------------------------

24/11/2018 - 66.0kg (+0.5kg)
01/12/2018 - 66.1kg (+0.1kg)
08/12/2018 - 66.9kg (+0.8kg)

Amusingly it's looking like I'll end the year right at what I started the year. I'm not overly concerned though, just glad to be slowly getting back to light training.

WOOP WOOP WOOP! End of year alert!

I've just realised that Friday 21st is the last Friday I can do this before the year end as I'm away until after New Year later on that day. And no one wants to get weighed on 28th after Christmas dinners etc. really do they?!

So, please can I have your final 2018 weights on Thursday 20th or noon on Friday 21st so that I can get a graph and stats done before I go. :-bd

I know I'll be renewing my weight loss vows in the New Year, but I don't want to be the keeper of the scales for another year. Any takers for the 2019 Bear Bones Fatfighters record keeper? :???:

Having started this all off in the first place, I know what a thankless task it is "herding the cats" and keeping the data updated, as numbers fall off during the year.

So from me a big thank you for your year in charge and hears hoping someone else steps up for another year of fat fighters fun.
