WTD: Hammock for scouts

Post by somersetpaul »

Evening

Anyone have any suggestions for a reasonably cheap hammock for a couple of scouts trips? Don't want to spend too much as not sure how much it will get used.

Thanks in advance

DD Hammocks Scout Hammock? It comes with some webbing to hang it which is a bit heavy, and it's really just for youths, but good value, methinx.

Tenth Wonder hammocks are about the cheapest I've seen - quality is good too.

I agree. Personally, unless you're hobit-esque, I'd get their "XL", a bigger hammock can help to get a flatter lay by angling yourself across it.

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, this bloke, his book and the website (particularly the "Hammock Camping 101" sections) are essential reading:

And if you fancy some Youtube--orials then search "hammocks and Shug". Style not to everyone's taste but advice is spot on.
