Alpkit parallax trousers

Post by Jurassic pusher »

Hi, I like the look of these waterproof trousers, the reviews on the Alpkit website are mostly positive however none of the reviews relate to wearing them whilst cycling.
Does anyone have any experience of these as cycling specific over trousers?

I've got a pair. I wore them for a days riding in a soaking Yorkshire Dales earlier in the year with no issues. The tabs on the ankles can be tightened up to stop them flapping or getting caught in the chain. They are very lightweight so I don't know how durable they'd be if you wore them alot but for carrying just in case I couldn't find anything that came close. I always take mine on overnight trips now as they weigh so little, pack small and I could wear them as an extra layer when stopped to keep the wind off as I'm usually just in bib shorts.

I'm about a 32 waist and I would of bought a medium but they were out of stock at the time so mine are a ladies 12  If in doubt or you think you're between sizes order both and send back the ones you don't need, as advised to me previously by alpkit themselves. I've always found them to be most helpful and great to deal with

Good idea! Annoyingly I tend to find medium a bit snug and large a bit too big.....

I think alpkit advised me to do that as they sometimes sell out quite quickly, if I'd ordered one size, tried it on and then sent it back for exchange there would be the risk they'd of then sold out of the other size.
